What word do you use most to describe your sexual orientation? Homosexual? Gay? Queer? Same-sex-lovin-while-clubbin?

    I say "gay."

For the longest time I had trouble saying the word "gay" when coming out (not that I had many opportunities to use it, but still I couldn't actually utter "I'm gay"). I would (and still sometimes do) say simply that "I like guys."

I use the term gay. I only use the term homosexual very rarely, as many times people think of negative connotations when it's used. I sometimes use the term queer to refer to the LGBTQ+ (or Queer) Community, but I've only rarely used the term queer to describe myself.

Everyone's going to hate me because of this, but I use the word fag describe myself...I don't understand why it's offensive, it's just a word...Whatever happened to sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? Just kidding, that's terrible advice, but yeah, I use the word faggot (gulp)...

I don't think I'd ever use the word fag, but I'm totally fine with other typically negative words like queer or fairy. I personally think it's similar to how it's more acceptable to use a racial slur, assuming you're a member of the race that you're using the slur to describe.

Although on a TMI note I'll add that the word fag is kind of sexy to use in bed.

Gay, though I'm not all that fond of it. But it beats the alternatives.

At least you're honest. I use it sometimes, but to describe something ... "that is so faggy" or "that person acts so faggy." For the first one, it's meant to be humorous. For the second one, the person might be getting on my nerves. I have rarely used the word faggot or fag in noun form.

I don't use queer. To me, that means odd. I don't use fairy. To me, that's means Tinkerbell or the tooth fairy.

I do use the word homosexual. I use it very clinically and factually and not with the reported paranoia from the McCarthy era - i.e. "the homosexual agenda." I also use the word gay but, since I use the word homosexual, I voted for that choice. I also use terms like "into other guys" or "likes guys." I believe that some of the objections with either homosexual and gay led to the rolling out of the term MSM - men who have sex with men. I don't use that one very much but, for public health purposes, that fits the bill quite well.

In the UK fag is slang for cigarette, so when someone calls gay people fags it seems somewhat out of context

I usually use gay, I haven't had to use it much yet though.

As for using words like "fag" which some might deem offensive, I think its like black people using the N word, by that I mean people DO use it to cause offensive sometimes but we use the word ourselves anyway.

I somehow prefer homosexual (even if it sounds somewhat formal)

If i describe myself I'd say "i don't care what's in their pants as long as i get laid"=P

I use "gay" typically, unless I want to be scientific or formal, then I will use "homosexual." I don't think I'll ever take to the word "queer." I just hate the word.

I'm not homosexual or gay, so I don't use either of those about myself~ I usually use pan, but I have used queer~~ if it's good enough for Lewis Carroll, lol

That reminds me of a show when Russell Brand had the Westboro Baptist Church come and visit xD They'd brought a sign saying "Fag pimp brand", and he said "I'm British, of course, so for me that just means "Cigarette?""

To answer the question, I use kind of different ones,
    1) Bi (ambi sounds more cute, but people often don't know the word)
    2) Humans
    3) F labels ^^
