Straight ally's question got me wondering about this. What does English sound like if you don't speak it?

This video pretty much answers your question exactly. They structured sentences in a way (using English words?) that is hardly understandable to English speakers.

It sounds kinda like Dutch (I think). Which makes sense considering they are both Germanic languages.

That was a really cool video. I wonder how they figured out how to make it sound English.

At first I thought they were really saying stuff in English, rather than just imitate the sounds of the language, so it was frustrating. As a native Portuguese speaker, I find it easier sometimes to understand German than English.

I always wondered what my accent in a different language would sound like to somebody who spoke that language

No idea, but once while I was getting scanned at the hospital, I heard doctors speaking in the other room, only being able to pick out "s" sounds (there were quite a few). Sort of choppy and breathy, if that makes sense. It helps that the air was on, and I was drifting in and out of sleep.
