I was looking over at the thread responses for "Colors you'd rather not wear" and saw how many guys didn't like to wear pink.

Personally, I do have several pink clothes, but was wondering what is it with the aversion to the color. Is it that you consider it feminine and maybe you try to avoid any connection to it for that reason? Is it too "gay" for you? Could it be a geographic or cultural thing?

What do you feel about men wearing pink?

Personally I just like wearing darker colours. Dark green, blue, and purple!

I really like my purple shirts! Pink, red and orange really stands out and for someone who is self conscious I prefer to not stand out.

But whatever color people want to wear is up to them and it doesn't bother me.

I own several pink shirts, including one with white and pink stripes. I think the idea of a "girl's color" is really silly; there's no such thing. I don't specifically avoid or gravitate toward any colors because of their supposed femininity or lack thereof. Maybe it's about rejecting gay stereotypes.

Certain shades of pink can look really good on a guy.

I don't personally own any pink clothing myself though. I think there used to be a cultural aversion to it here, but in recent years people don't bat an eye at it.

Main reason I don't wear pink is it doesn't look good with my skin tone. I think guys should rock it if they can.

I don't wear pink not because it's too "gay". I don't wear pink-colored outfits because it doesn't match my skin tone.

Some guys look really good in pink others do not. It's silly to think that certain colors are for certain genders

I prefer darker or duller colors like blues, black, grays, and purples. Some people think purple is feminine lol. I had a pink/ orange shirt I loved. Never went full pink because its not my color.
Pink used to be for boys because it was a stronger shade than the light blue of most baby clothes. Blue was for girls. Somehow that changed.

    I think it's fine.

It's easier to pull off in small doses, or as a secondary color. Not many can do totally pink and get away with it.

For me, I don't like really light or really dark pinks. I like them a bit bright, almost a neon bubblegum.

The most pink I'll ever wear, is a t-shirt. Maybe shoe laces, but that's about it.

If you can do it, do it. If you can't and still want to, okay. But everyone seems to have certain colors that go well with them, for whatever reason.

I used to wear it much more often than I do now. It doesn't so much strike me as un-masculine, just really eighties.

I think I'd like to wear pink but I can't find any mens clothes that are pink here in Australia. I have one shirt which is my favourite and it is close to being pinkish but it's not it's a plum colour. but I don't think any colour is feminine or masculine, cause that is a stupid premise.

I'd like a few pink shirts, even though I don't currently own any. I think a pink and white plaid shirt would look very nice on me.

Yes, there is definitely that! However, I've seen some dens and libraries in pale pink with white woodwork and ceilings that are incredible. If I had a den or a library, I might just choose that for it.

I've never had pink casual apparel. I have one pale pink dress shirt. I wear it every now and then, and a few people - men - to this day, sort of "study it." It's not a good version of "study it." I also noticed they don't have any pink shirts.

I think that pink looks great if you can wear it. I also think that this male aversion to pink is a more recent social construct. Lots of family crests and even team logos have or have had pink in them. This could be a research project - to find out how the color pink became associated with women and femininity.

I'm not a fan of colours being gendered, and I do like to wear pink, especially if it's in memory of breast cancer survivors or people who lost their fight to breast cancer.

I just don't like bright colours. I often gravitate to something that is grey, green or black.

As a trans guy, I've been pressured so much into pink that I don't really like wearing it, honestly. I wouldn't say that if I saw a pink shirt that I liked I wouldn't buy it, but it hasn't happened the last time I bought clothes.
