Hey everybody. I feel like I'm constantly working these days and while I only hate one of my jobs (the one I'm generally at more) I feel like life is so predictable. Sleep eat work eat sleep. Maybe I'm going through some sort of mid 20s life crisis... but I often go without days off and so it begs the question... How do you guys survive your work days?! (Please alarm don't go off... I wish I had Sundays off!!!)
I get through work by keeping myself busy. We have access to the Internet in the pharmacy, so during down time, I use Google Drive and Quizlet to study for exams. When I'm at pick up, whenever a patient stops by, I can always alt+tab out of my stuff into the work queue, and help the patient with whatever. Then when I'm done, I go back to studying... rinse and repeat.
Podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts, podcasts! I always have a podcast on queue ready to be consumed whenever I find myself doing something that doesn't require much thinking, or commuting, or when I wanna pretend to ignore you.
During times of feeling like a drone my Ipod becomes my best friend. That and sneak texting. 3rd shift can be soooooo boring though. X_X
I actually don't mind my job.. there's always something to do, and I deal with people a lot which I don't mind because I'm a sociable person.
Get through work? Now, if there was a job for a professional time waster, I would be perfect. I would probably win awards and get all the promotions up to chief professional time waster.
