I was out after work today and acroos the resautrant this guy got slaped. He got slaped acrooss the face because he was gay. After the guy slaped him he wet back to his table and had a seat. Why are people so stupid? The gay man did nothing worng. Has this ever happened to you? or have you ever seen this happen. It makes me angry when i see this type of stuff. and if my co workers didn't hold me back i would have gone and yelled at the guy.
Well - essentially that is assault - and, if you are correct in your assessment, it also sounds like discrimination/hate attack - and I would have thought that in L.A. the victim would have had legal recourse if he had wished to pursue the matter.
:icon_mad: ... why dint da gay guy slap im back?? How can he stand sum1 slappin him n not doin nethin bout it??:tantrum:
i don't know why he didn't do any thing about it. just sitting there it made me angry to see evil win like that
If he had retaliated to the assault it would only have made the situation worse, he did the right thing in my opinion, after all two wrongs don't make a right. I'm not saying gay people should just let idiots like that get away with these things, but there's better ways to deal with these things than just hitting back
Sadly, even in LA there are certain anti-gay conservative areas, having lived there before. :frown: But Kevv, instead of taking what everyone else suggested, that the guy should have been violent back (kick groin :icon_roll ...that reminds me of something), consider what TriBi said: that was a hate crime!! He should have called the police, and the tormentor would have SOOOOO been arrested. I don't know what your co-workers were thinking, but you should have gone to speak to the slapped gay guy. Perhaps phone the police for him or something like that. It just infuriates me to read about these things. They're disgusting!
I agree with Bill. If he had hit back the situation would have become worse and he would probably be more badly injured. Both could get arrested and charged with assault or whatever. Not responding was the best way, and I admire him for keeping his cool. Also, if there was evidence or witnesses he could get the guy charged with assault anyway, though it's probably not worth the bother.
altho i would say that fighting doesnt solve anything. if i was in his position he would end up in the hospitable with a broken something....not sure what yet. lets go with femur that sounds painful
