    They're ignorant, bigoted people of every stripe. This was a disturbing event to be sure. We should not tolerate such behavior, but neither should we repay it in kind. We need to be above the fray, and prove ourselves better than our enemies. We need to win over popular opinion in order to gain acceptance. Responding with violence will only prove us to be no better than our enemies. Take the idiots to court, press charges, make them look the fools, the hoodlums that they are.

    is the attack happened unprovoked?? or did the gay couple offend the attacker somehow??

    if its unprovoked :
    take the high road and SUE THEM... Punishment for the hate crime going to teach those sick bastard a good lesson

    if its provoked :
    no comment!!! i dont know if its classified as hate crime if the attack happens as a result of provocation...

    Bar fights, like all fights, can be really interesting. I have a rule when in a bar. If a fight breaks out, I'm out the door.

    Bar fights break out because people lower their humility mainly due to the consumption of alcohol. People start to talk about politics, religion, sexual partners, women, men, hot topics which can invoke lots of raw human emotion.

    Its also interesting to watch bar fights. Lots of people do not have a clue how to take someone down. They need to become disciplined and learn martial arts.

    Whether it was a hate crime or not...To me the worse part was the fact that some dickheads think it is acceptable to just stand and film it.

    A newspaper report said that the gay couple confronted some people at a nearby table who they thought had made a homophobic remark, and that's when it all kicked off. Clearly it is disgraceful that any disagreement should provoke such violence.

    Actually, I am glad someone filmed it. 20 years ago these sorts of attacks happened and nothing was done about them. Now the whole world gets to know about them.

    He could have just apologized to the couple, but NO...He had to smack them with a chair. What a BITCH! :dry: especially when the poor guy is like...half his size and he was turning his back to the bitch :bang:
