"HOW CAN I BE A BETTER FRIEND?" Preach~ I guess we assume we're 'good enough' as friends too often. I'm gonna say that to one of my gay friends right now.
To be honest, I don't see how this can't apply to any person's friendship with anyone else as a general guideline. Maybe it was poised as targeted clickbait.
I would gentle suggest that this is actually positive, targeted as it is. As minority people, we can always stand to be reminded of the need to have more solidarity with one another. ~ Adrienne
Yeah, don't see why pretty much any of this should be advice exclusively for gay people As pointless as anything you might find on buzzfeed ---------- Post added 9th May 2015 at 07:48 PM ---------- Sorry :icon_redf
Oh, absolutely. I just thought it would've touched upon policing more explicitly, and so without it, the article seemed a bit lacking to me, personally. It's still nice to have messages reminding us that we should treat each other well when all too often many minority groups end up policing each other on appropriateness, or judging/excluding each other, and being represented in media as rivals/enemies.
This was my clear favorite: 7. CAN YOU GET OFF YOUR PHONE?! I am going to make a point of saying this several times a day.
#2 and 5 I really liked. If you want the LGBT community to be a more inclusive place, #2 is THE way you make things more inclusive.
I needed 2 a few years back joining the school support group just a quick shove every so often . 6 am still a bit cautious what people think I know I shouldn't worry but I do still ggot work to do there . 1 when family told me this I wasn't ready honest just though it was to make me feel better when I realized it was for real I cried for ages .
