How do you show love?

Straight-forward question: how do you show that you care greatly? With money? Diamonds? Words? Actions?

I know that making love is somewhere in the list, but let's not be too obvious.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Somebody is either feeling very romantic, or they're wanting to "borrow" some ideas.

I sing and scream my love out into the world

I want you to hold me tight
    Cause it's so damn right
    That it's wrong
    I'm singing this goddamn song

Ooh yeah you are my lover
    You my man lover
    I'll play you a tune
While we lay in a dune

    Sand running down my hair
    You are my rusty chair
    My polished finish

(and so on and so forth)

I assure you this is a mere...academical interest. Of course if the theory is sound I might apply it in the future (for science)

I don't act hostile towards people I "like" for starters... Then there is touching, using husky voice and getting out of my comfort zone to be with them...

I know this is very wrong and I am still working on changing this but....

I show love by changing myself to a person he/she likes. Like I would wear red (eeew) just so she can notice me (this happened in high school). Sometimes to the point where I dont even know who I really am, like when I became VERY VERY "whory" and would do anything just so I wont bore him (this happened just last year).

I can still feel that I have this tendency, but I am fighting it now. Hopefully, someday, I would love someone without changing myself.

Indifference, insults, compliments, being a bit mean than kind. I send mixed signals.

You look into their eyes, which is automatic if you have not been shamed to much, give them a hug, and at times do simple easy things for them.

What is love? In my opinion love is nothing but an utter submission to the person you love so that "you" and your wish evaporates and vanishes you become an object of pleasure and happiness for him and nothing else
YOU CAN TOUCH YOU CAN PLAY
I AM ONLY YOURS YOU CAN SAY
    DDD
This is my way of expressing love to him

I consider myself a little inexperience in showing love only 16 and all that so I would let someone do the hard work I am a fast learner.

For my dogs and cats - lots of cuddles, kisses, treats, toys, declarations of love...

For humans - nothing really. I find any outward showing of love or affection really cheesy and awkward. Maybe that's what my ex was talking about when he dumped me for being 'cold and emotionally shut off'. Ah well

    It's pretty simple for me.

If I give you any of my time, then I like you quite a bit. I don't get that time back, so you're obviously worth that lost time.

If I encourage you to talk about yourself -- what you think, like, do. Not only am I giving up time that I will never get back, I am also sacrificing time I could be doing something else or talking about me, so you must be HOT-DAMN status.

Those two gestures are very big from me.

I'm also a sucker for spoiling. But not just gifts, little things, like cards or stick-it notes hidden in special places. You know, the spark in a relationship, the love.

If I deem you worthy, and I trust you... which is another way I show care... then you will be taken care of. See, I may want to reach the top, but only if those I like come along too. My honey bunny is going to feel like I am a vital part of their world, because I pay my debts and pull my weight. I hate being thought of as useless.

I don't have very much experience in the physical displays department, but I'm a sucker for cuddles. I've only had 3, but I'm experiencing withdrawal. Ideally, I'd probably touch and kiss every little bit of the body, letting you know, hey, you look amazing! I have great taste, don't I? LOL.

Consideration is a very major way I show care.

Let us say, you're working a lot. You come home tired and exhausted. I'd take notice of this and next time, hell, maybe even then, I'd prepare a hot bath, some candles, and physical massages. We can talk about how life sucks, but that we'll complain about it in a hot tub with scented candles and each other, LOL.

Cook something you like, as a surprise. Grind for you in a video game, so when you come home, you are super rich, allowing you to enjoy the game. Clean the house one day, and maybe even get a pizza, so you can cuddle up in your clean bed with a movie, that I also rented. Just take away some responsibility, so you can relax and get loved. <3

Basically what I'm saying is, I'm a God damn romantic, LOL.

    My top ways...
    1) Hugging/cuddling/kissing/physical affection <=== my favorite way and the way I liked to be showed I'm loved
    2) Compliments or comforting words
    3) Helping out some way (cleaning, cooking, etc.)
    4) Gifts (I don't have a job lol so usually I make something)

Not a lot of ways, but I do different things depending on the person.

    Turning the other cheek....

Oh, you meant romantically, I would say that I show it by touch. I frequently touch my bf's neck even when the context is far from sexual.

If they don't know I care, it tends to be your average cheesy teen romance thing. It's all being caught looking at them and 'accidentally' sitting too close.

If they know I care, I just tell them they're an idiot. They know what I mean

Let them hug me even if i don't feel like hugging
hug them.(big point if you know me in person)
    do stuff for them.
And of course:annoy them=P I'm quite rude or word duelling with a lot of people but if I'm trying to push your triggers or come to you and stop you from whatever you're doing through being a whiny annoying pain in the ass when I'm bored that's a clear sign that i like you and want to spend time with you.

Love is a verb. What you love in another is the good that you see in them.

You love by seeking to know your beloved, as deeply as possible. You respond to them, you respect who they are and who they want to become. You take care of them without regard for any reward, and sometimes you put them first.

There are no conditions, love is its own reward.
