Understanding terminology

    Up until the age of perhaps 12, I didn't know what being gay was. Learning about lesbians, bisexuality, asexuality, agender people etc. didn't come until I was 15.
    To be honest, I only recognised that what I had for a guy years ago as a crush 10 minutes ago.
    When did you learn what all this sexual and gender terminology meant? How?
    The funnier the better, as always. I'll start; I thought a dildo was some kind of crocodile or dinosaur when I joined secondary school.

    I didn't know what a lesbian was until I was 14. I thought it was a disability. So anytime someone mentioned Ellen DeGeneres, I would very informatively say, "She's a lesbian." I always received really strange looks from the adults.
