I'm just curious about peep's relationships with their parents, siblings, and extended family members.

Just in general? Or in regards to sexuality?

In general: I get along well with my parents and they've provided me with everything I needed to get by. They were completely useless and ignorant when I was suffering (badly) from depression and for that reason I don't see them as being very good parents. But I still love them and I know they love me.

I barely speak to my brother but it is improving slowly.

I like my mother's side of the family. They're funny and don't take themselves too seriously. My father's side of the family is the complete opposite, but fortunately I never see any of them except for my paternal grandfather who is lovely.

None of them know I fancy women as well as men, but they don't need to know so I'm not going to tell unless I have to

My mom and I aren't that close due to problems understanding each other. My dad and I are closer, but still not that close. My sister is pretty much my best friend, and my dog is very sweet and easy to get along with. ^^

I get along well with everyone... for now. My parents think I'm "misguided" and will come around (both are religiously bat-shit crazy that way), my brother has been my light being agnostic long before I myself gave up the faith (he's the one I talk to).

My extended family does not know about me (with the exception of my cousin) because I'm told to keep quiet, it just hasn't come up in conversation.

My mom's side, they are in their own clusterf$%k right now dealing with my uncle and his alcoholism. My cousin is an exception, I told him about my sexuality because my mother said I would lose family over the matter and granted my cousin is deeply religious but he's like a brother to me. He's fine. My godfather, extremely catholic, I'll let him know later.

My father's side, my grandmother expects me to produce a granddaughter that will go shopping with her, she is religious, she doesnt need to find out any time soon. Grandfather, the greatest bad-ass of the family, doesnt believe in god, mocks the church, believes aliens are coming back to reinstate Hitler on this earth. *hopefully joking*, stood up for gay people before I stood up for LGBT+, goddamn, an inspiration for coming out, inspired me to take action. Love that man to death, I'll tell him how much I appreciate what he's done later, but not now because he's on a tight leash with my grandmother who will flip shit, causing my father to flip shit and that would be a friggin mess.

I love these people, but sometimes... they are just a little crazy/

In general, my parents are divorced, and I was split between the two. Good relationship with both. My older brother lives overseas, but he's like my best friend sometimes. My younger brother lives with me and I adore him. On my mother's side, I'm not particularly close with my uncle. But I love my grandmother (not my grandfather). On my dad's side, I can't stand my grandparents (they're not fond of my sexuality), but am fairly close to my cousins, aunts, uncles and some extended family. Only my mom and older brother know about my gender, however. I'm sure I'll be near disowned to the matriarch on my father's side. But whatever, slow going.

My parents have been divorced for many years. My mom and I are very close. My dad and I aren't. He no longer bothers with me, "new wife, new life." The only relatives I've ever been close to were my mom's parents. I have no siblings either so it's just my mom and I.

My mom bothers me a lot and we don't really have a close bond, she is like an annoying friend. My dad and I are pretty close, but I don't really talk to either of them like I talk to my friend. I wish I had siblings, but I don't. My mom's side of the family is full of drama. My uncle (mother's brother) had three daughters. One of them committed suicide just recently, leaving two children behind... My uncle himself is homophobic, sexist, and racist, and I might get disowned from him if I came out to him. My dad's side of the family is much more liberal and open-minded. I have some second cousins who are all older than me but I love them. Unfortunately the youngest, a brother, is struggling with heroin problems. They'd be much more accepting if I came out to them.

I have a large extended family, small but fair immediate one.
My mom and I always get along pretty well, I just wish she wasn't constrained by her conservative beliefs so things wouldn't be as awkward.
My dad has anger issues so it's difficult to get along with him, he has alot of issues actually. He's become much more racist I guess recently (all at once I wake up hearing him screaming the N-word now, going on about those black animal thugs who aren't capable of running cities), as well he's pretty sexist (women should stay home, shouldn't be allowed to fight in the military like men) and homophobic (lock all the gays away, how dare they want equal rights, attacking Christians!) and transphobic (don't want those men in the restrooms). Pretty depressing.
I think I made it sound worse than it is.. but not really. Just put it all together.

Now my brothers are more normal and easier to along with. They're twenty years older than me, but they're fun people.
My niece, who is older than I, is like them. We have some stuff in common though unlike my brothers. But we don't always get along 100%. My nephew has lennox gastaut so I don't get to hang out with him.

And extended, most are conservative supporters of discrimination and the usual so I avoid them nowadays. It would hurt too much to be around them now because I really love my family and miss them. Too bad I had to grow up and see these things. :frowning2:

Anyway I never get to see any of these people besides my parents, a couple of visits per year maybe with my brothers. I miss the old family reunions in the mountains with my hillbilly family though lol. But seriously, I do. Best memories ever.

My mom is emotionally unstable, my grandmother is under high stress all the time, yells a lot and says a LOT of mean and hurtful things, and I barely talk to my dad.

    arfff

I havent come out to my family except my sist. The relationship between me and my parents already going downhill since 4 years ago when they bust my gay porn...

all my family are extremely homophobic

if me and my dad have 1 hour of alone time we spend 5 minutes chit chatting and the rest 55 mins are for religious preach, then i'm using my headphone and he start screaming, yelling and swearing

Me and mom seems have better time without dad around. I told her i wanted to go abroad for better life (i didn't tell the actual reason was because i'm gay and i cant live out and proud here). She support my decision but still asking when will i get married (with a girl) because i'm getting older everyday. At least no preaching, no yelling and no swearing so that's good enough.

i keep my distance with my extended family to avoid further shame for my family when i came out later. I don't want my sexuality to became my immediate family burden. I'll still love them even when they don't love me back

I love my parents tremendously and in general we get along great. But, they don't really know me. I hid all my emotional problems from middle school and high school from them. And, I will always regret how I let them make me feel when they found out I was looking at porn when I was 12 - it took me years not to feel disgusting and ashamed.

My sister (27) is funny and intelligent. But, she bugs me when she acts helpless or oblivious.

My brother (17) will hopefully grow up to be a much more considerate, even tempered, less manipulative person.

My favorite aunt is nearly identical to me in personality. My cousin (her daughter) is amazing and we get along great.

The rest of my family I don't see on a regular basis, but, in general, they're nice people.

I'm not out to most of my family, only my sister and 3 cousins.

My immediate family gets along great (ignoring my dad's wife and the 10 years my brother was gone). My dad's side of the family (4 generations atm) is amazing and I love them. We're all really close. My mom's side of the family I haven't been close to, especially since my mom and then my grandmother died. But we still try and get along well enough when we are together.

All of my family put together is about 40+ people and I can't imagine life without even one of them.

Oh and my godfamily! I'm out to the 3 sisters, and they're really cool. I love my godparents to death.

Both parents have passed on. I'm and only so there is no drama, except that which I create. Not close to my father's side of the family. My maternal cousins and I have a good relationship. I'm the youngest of the first cousins. I am middle-aged and still referred to as the brat. My ex-wife and I still have a good and caring relationship. I've a very good relationship with my youngest children 11 and 18. Neither my ex nor I have a really good relationship with my eldest, 21. The dog and I are best buds.

My extended family are 8 guys with whom I worked, and my brothers in the gay men's chorus with whom I sing.

I only have my mother and step-dad in my family left. Sperm donor left when I was 8, rest are either dead or disowned.
My relationship with my mother and step-dad is awesome though. Love how accepting they are and not to mention since I came out me and my mother got even closer.

I get along fine with most of my family, especially my parents and siblings to whom I am very close. My other relatives pretty much all live in Europe and many of them don't speak English, so my relation to them is a bit weaker. But there's no one that I have a "bad relationship" with even if there are some I am simply not as close to.

    Everything is okay.
I live only with my dad (my parents have been divorced for nine years now), and his parents - my grandma and grandpa. Everything is going quite well between us, they care for me so much... and I always try not to disappoint them.

On the second floor of our house live my cousin, aunt and uncle. They are also nice, even though we rarely see/talk to each other... everyone is so busy.

My mum lives in another city. I love her so much, and so does she. Thanks to her I was able to leave my country... at least for some time. She comes to my city like three or four times a year to visit me.

So yea, in general my relationships with my family are great, and I hope it will stay that way forever.

I'm an only child and get along fine with my parents, though I don't share much with them. I'm also close to my grandfather, my uncles, aunts and my cousin, all on my mother's side. On the other hand I rarely have any contact with my father's.
