How do you guys feel about those "My family" stickers people put on their cars' rear windows? I personally don't like it. Sure, it might look cool to the owner of the vehicle, but I think it's a safety risk. I've been told that there are burglars/armed robbers walking among us who see those stickers, and immediately know how many people (Adults/children) and which pets are in the household, and some might even follow them home and overpower them (They bring along the right amount of "bad guys" so there aren't more occupants than them). Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I've heard someone say that once and it has stuck with me. So every time I see those stickers on somebody's vehicle I think about what I've heard. Do you think it's true about the criminals possibly following them home, etc.?
I've never heard of anything like that happening here in the States, but that sounds scary. Here I was thinking people with these stickers were just annoying.
A lot of the Mormons have those on the back of their suburbans and they have like 12 of those stick figure things.
Yeah, quite improbable to encounter burglars this organized and determined, especially for planning to rob a house rather than something with a bigger potential score. If it did happen though it would be awful. I think they're pretty innocuous overall. I also like the funny parody ones so they're eh.
I think you may get discriminated (by someone) if you happen to have two adult males as part of a stick figure family. At least I'd expect to get my car keyed. But, then again, I'm paranoid.
Troll Family Love this one... My friend used to joke that he thought those stickers represented the people the driver had run over so far... I personally find them tacky but I have rainbow dash in my back window, Kenpachi and Yachiru chibis on the passenger side of my car, the symbol for the fairy tail guild on the other side and a maximal emblem on the hood of my car... So who am I to judge?
I think they're kind of silly. I do, however, want to buy a whole bunch of random ones and put them on my car. Just have like 5 adults, 7 kids, 4 babies, and a bunch of animals.
I mean, you have to think they can be a safety risk when you consider it. I would think of it less from a burglar standpoint and consider someone a little more desperate and sick. Burglars sometimes don't really take the time to know if someone's home. I was at home once when this guy broke in, and he only broke in because he saw my mother drive away in her car. He wasn't taking the time to scope it out. Abductors. Think about it. They know you've got kids by looking at your car. And as a result, if they're so determined, they know when they're home alone. That freaks me out.
I've never really thought about them being used as identifiers for criminal intent but they can be quite funny and you can also make silly stories about them if you're bored while driving.
I would totally have a Forever Alone stick figure, and a bunch of waifu stick figures, like just their heads drawn normal and stick bodies.
I want to find a dad in hand cuffs, a mom sitting on a stoop with a joint in her mouth, and 15 kids running around her with two hanging on her titties. or, do you think that might offend some in this DC/Baltimore reigion...
I think they're a little hokey...the mark of the Soccer mom in her Suburban...but otherwise they can be cute.
We have them. Mum thinks that the robber thing is bullshit for families. Her word "no one is going to steal off us when they see we have 5 kids"
