I really don't know if this is a problem but I can't seem to stop playing with my hair.
My hairs sort of curly so I just play with the curls, play with them, twist or weave.
Anytime I have a free hand, I catch myself playing with my hair and I put my hand down and later catch myself playing with my hair again

Dont know if you are aware, and I dont mean to be ignorant but, in most cases the constant playing with the hair is an indication or an affect of ADD and can be controlled by medications.
I happen to have a family member that has this same issue and believe me, being on the viewing side of it, it at times becomes annoying. Ive even found myself blocking her from my view so I cant see it.
it gets in the way of my OCD. ADD and OCD are not a good partnership.

Hand-cuff your wrists behind your back.
    That'll solve it.

Is it interfering with your daily life and activities? If no, then it's not a problem. If yes, seek immediate psychiatric attention... just kidding lol. In all seriousness, if it does interfere with daily life then a medical professional can diagnose the severity and suggest treatment accordingly.

I compulsively pull out my hair (trichotillomania)--though not as bad as before--and twist it but I'm not really conscious of it unless someone draws attention to it.

Or you just like the sensation... I like playing with other girls's hair and having mine brushed/played with a lot

It might be a bad habit~ Why don't you try wearing your hair pulled back for a month? It should break the habit ^.^

(But yeah~ I always pet my hair when I'm nervous, haha~ it's my bad habit, too XD;;
