Good? Bad? Both? Or is the experience dependent upon what you go actively seeking?

There is a growing dislike of Tumblr, that seems to be getting much more intense, which is understandable, the most extreme and vocal segments of it are becoming involved elsewhere. And they can be quite... loud, to put it mildly.

So, Tumblr. What's good? What's bad?

My experience so far has been good. I only use Tumblr to stare at hot guys pics :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I haven't dared treading the cesspool, but it might be an interesting experience.

    Umm... what?

Some amateur artists I follow usually say "follow me on tumblr" so what is wrong about it I wonder. However like every social network I don't touch it with 10 feet pole.

I find it fun. Everyone's nice, and it's easy enough to avoid the dodgy end.

I use it for seeing stuff I'm a fan of, but the social justice side of it goes way too far. I try to avoid it but it's hard to get away from on there.

Not quite sure what the point of it is. Apart from blogging which involves more images than text. Mostly people just seem to post random stuff, or they are very focused on something. And there is lots of porn, of course

I like to dive into tumblr's salacious end of the pool on a regular basis. I find the waters therapeutically relaxing .

I was reading recently on EC about someone who posted about how tumblr is very "social justice" and EC is also becoming like that and I don't really get it. I thought tumblr was mostly a compendium of hot, sometimes clothed, guy pics . Never really have seen the mythical I'm-trans-as-in-otherkin-who-is-a-special-snowflake-who-is-white-but-should-have-been-born-Native-American-princess-with-a-unicorn-horn-on-my-head-and-wolf-paw's-for-feet-who-likes-to-drink-fair-trade-coffee-with-kale-chips-and-fight-the-male-hegemony-and-think-men-should-all-get-castrated tumblr page.

It's a bit of a double edged sword, on one hand you have literally millions of special snowflakes who get offended every time you use the letter 'e', posts romanticising mental illness and suicide and making depression seem a fashionable thing to have. But then there are an endless amount of outright hilarious pages (with links ) ignore Hitler, Nick Clegg looking sad, #whatshouldwecallme, T-Rex trying and hungover owls.

And not to mention a lot of naked guys, lots and lots of naked guys!

    :roflmao:

There's quite a few of them and they aren't so hard to find, but then again, I am the person who goes looking for trouble XD

This guy knows what is up.

Sometimes Tumblr posts stuff, which reminds me, no matter the terrible quality material I've read in the past, somebody can always come along and lower my expectations:

Do I even need to explain this? LOL.

OMG. It's so awful. Do you have any more.

I usually go to tumblr to watch a lot of lesbian gifs.

I think tumblr can be a great place, staying away from all the tumblr extremists is fairly easy if you stay on your side of the site.

It's a very good site because it is for blogs of all types, however unfortunately that site has a decently sized population of feminazis.

I actually haven't had any bad experiences with Tumblr. I suppose it's because I just keep to my fandoms.

It's nice. It's not like any other social media account where you can only have one blog. You could literally have 10 blogs of whatever is in your own interest. It doesn't just have to be about your own stuff, it could literally be about anything.

I use it because it's a great fandom-outburst-place, some of the things are very bad, other funny and amazing. I stay away from any political discussion because I know that most of the people in there are just stupid angry kids, I just enjoy their fanart though.

My ex-bf got me into it. I do think it's easy to stay away from the things you do not want to be seen on your blog and that is to be picky on who you follow with. I do admit that I have learned a lot about trans issues and the importance to it but also being careful and not just relying on tumblr.

I like Tumblr because for everything that is niche, it exists and I enjoy interacting with people who have the same likes as I do.

I just use it for video game fandom posts and my personal artwork. I avoid anything LGBT related like the plaque.
