From the battlefields of the world may the fear, pain, anger, and courage of all soldiers and I mean all unite as one as we hope for a world of unity, peace and prosperity. Happy memorial day to all. May the guns end fire and lift up hope for a better world.
Memorial Day is more so about remembering those who have died, while Veteran's Day is also about this, but more so an emphasis on those still living.
I suppose the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day for most Americans are that Memorial Day is when you might have the first barbecue of the season, and outdoor swimming pools open for the season. Veterans Day is pretty much limited to a day off, with possibly sales at the mall. As for the significance of the holidays, well, God forbid that any normal American think a moment about that when there are more important things to do, like go to the mall and stock up on Chinese-made crap that is On Sale, Today Only!!!!
How sad that I can say that I dont think I have heard it summed up better than this before. Unfortunately, I fear you are correct. Memorial is for those that died veterans are for those that lived but served. (like me that still has to work on veterans day)
