Following this thread where Kaiser asks about alone time got me thinking. Do you consider yourself an introverted, extroverted, or ambivert?

Me: I consider myself introverted. I wouldn't call myself shy but I like hanging out with smaller groups. Life on this planet is short. I want to get to know and hang out with people on a personal level.

Ambiverted, because I require a lot of alone time to recharge but I need social interaction just as often to stay sane. I have a slight preference for introversion, though. I like the feeling of big groups of friends as much as I like having just a few closer folks around.

I'm introverted. INTJ very, very clearly.

Today, while I was out walking, somebody invited me to a yard party. They were sweeties and very nice, but I had to excuse myself after half an hour. :frowning2: I just haven't had energy for other people this weekend.

Is it possible to be a shy extrovert? I think that's me.

Primarily introverted, sometimes with the right people, right time and right situation I can be outgoing, but most of the time I'm quiet and shy.

Introvert. I prefer facing the computer more than facing people outside

Introvert. I love getting together with friends and interacting with others, but after a certain point, it becomes exhausting and I need my alone time to recharge.

    Introverted.

But I can force myself to be extroverted, easily. I just prefer time to myself, or a very small circle, which is when I feel most comfortable and, well, myself.

Introvert. Most of the time I find pleasure in being with my thoughts and interacting at my own pace, like on here. Sometimes I quite like people but short jaunts is all I enjoy before it starts to be a chore.

The word ambivert is a new one to me. It almost seemed tempting.

I'm an extroverted introvert, but I'm still an introvert to the core.

Definitely ambivert. I'm bipolar so the 2 poles of my personality exist but almost never at the same time. I'm either manic, talkative, social, reaching out, or I'm depressive and don't want to talk to anyone.

Introverted. I'm only extroverted when I'm among people I know really well, but when it comes to strangers/acquaintances I'm not extroverted at all.

I'm more extroverted (ESTJ). I practically live for other people and making a good impression, and I enjoy presenting things and giving speeches.

Does anyone think it's possible that extroversion can manifest via the internet, and that extensive social interaction can take place on a meaningful level despite using only text, or maybe even mic/cam-- but not physically face-to-face?

I mean, some people have said that being on the internet is due to introversion, but if that were the case, why are we choosing to post on a forum instead of... I don't know, browsing non-interactive content?
