Hello everyone... this is kinda random but I have a bad cold at the moment (which sucks, since it's my half term and I'm of school) but do you have any things to suggest to make the cold feel better? I have a sore throat + snotty nose :frowning2: I had chicken soup earlier, and I will probably take medicine later. Any suggestions?

Get off the computer/your phone and get some rest. Drink plenty of water.

Nothing you can really do for a cold, though paracetamol in things like lemsip can help with the symptoms and help you sleep. I just ignore colds and get on with life. I mean, they don't kill you.

Cover yourself in Vaporub. If you're not slimey enough to go down a slip-n-slide, then you don't have enough on

Other than that, everything the above posters have said.

I always make myself a nice big bowl of chicken soup. Just boil some frozen drumsticks in some water with lots of vegetables and some salt/pepper. I read somewhere that chicken soup doesn't actually help with colds but I think if you believe hard enough you might get a placebo effect.....even if it doesn't help at all it still tastes great and is healthy

    Arfff

basically this but swap the drumstick with chicken wings. They release more chicken essence to the soup so they have stronger taste =)

Plenty of sleep and some warm lemon water seems ease my cold tho

    hope you feel better

Tea, especially lemon tea, and menthol drops always seem to help me  They make the sore throat feel better at least.

A good prevention tactic is to take vitamin D everyday.

Chicken soup, spicy foods, plenty of fluids, rest...If you're old enough 2 fingers of whiskey or rum, tea, juice of 1 lemon, honey to taste, and boiling water. Inhale the vapors and sip. It'll open up your sinuses, soothe your throat, and help you sleep.
