Most of you are probably familiar with this South Carolina senator by now. He will soon be announcing a run for potus. Anyways, rumors have circulated for years that he's gay, and personally, I think there's no way he isn't. Yet, he has never been open about it and as a republican he hasn't been the most vocal advocate of gay rights. What is your opinion of graham based on what you know about him? Also, dont you think if he is gay, it's bound to be revealed under the scrutiny of a presidential campaign?
It is pretty obvious and I get the vibe from him all the time. I think that is a reason why some conservatives hate him and he will not win the nomination for president. But he is as stubborn as bricks and will not come out anytime soon. But yeah he does not hide it very well.
I don't follow US politics, so I had to look him up. The conjecture that he is gay seems to be based simply on the fact that he has never married. It seems a bit old fashioned to assume that just because a man hasn't got a wife, he must be gay. Bit patronising, too.
Funniest thing was being told when I lived in the US that I wasn't a 'native English speaker'. I mean, native is from the Latin natus - to be born. I was born in England. English is the language of .... England. Anyway, the s/z thing is quite recent. Often in British English it is used simply to show how superior and British we are. Older British books often use the z. (Though note, pronounced zed, not zee!)
