This came up as part of a topic on another forum/website that I'm a member of, & I thought it might make an interesting topic/poll here
One of the members there also has connections to a GLBT group (that has an entry to an upcoming Pride parade)...so the member was checking to se if any local members would be interested in getting together, going to a PrideFest, & maybe walking in the Pride Parade too.
Said website (which as per EC's rules shall remain nameless) isn't a "gay forum" (it also isn't a 'straight' site .lol. ) . I'd say most members are accepting of GLBT just because of what it is.
Surprisingly there've been no replies of interested/not-interested...even though earlier in the year a few people expressed interest in going to PrideFest.
(and yes that particular site does allow members to meet).

So lets say you were a member of some website, or group, or school, or whatever...
Some of the members getting together & going to a PrideFest and walking in the Pride Parade too.
    Would you:
-Walk in the parade with them.
-Not walk in the parade with them, but still go watch it.
-Skip the parade altogether, but still go to PrideFest .
-Skip both the parade & PrideFest.

    As for me...
I'm tentatively on going to PrideFest anyway, but will most likely skip the parade.
I wouldn't mind watching it, especially if some of the others meetup after, but just because of the way things are going to the parade is hard.
In a way it would be neat to actually be -in- it...but that's a risk I could never take.

I would walk in a pride parade and a pride fest. Hey I'll give anything a shot once.

I'm definitely up for marching in a pride parade/march. I've actually done it before on my future campus on a college visit. I've also been to a pridefest before, and it was a great time. Even if you don't think you'll like it, you should really try it once before you aren't able to.

I would love to march in a pride parade, I've just never had the chance to. I always attend the parade and go to the festival though

I have walked in a few pride parades and I want to walk in more! Where I live it's pretty safe (nothing is guaranteed though) and I'm happy about that, but it's sad to know that in many countries it's a big risk or even forbidden. Have been to some pride festivity-ish thing as well, it's nice.

I've walked before, with PFLAG actually. And it was great, 10/10 would do again.

Actually I just found out that my hometown is having a parade today and I kinda wish I was there! Last time I was home, there was no Pride festival in Barrie!

I don't feel "out and proud" enough to march in the parade, but I do have plans to go to Pride and watch the parade this year with a few friends. Maybe in the future when I'm out to everyone I'd consider marching in the parade, but I'm not the type to enjoy a spotlight in any situation so I'm unsure.

    I'm not out and I can't say I'm 'proud', I'm just me.

That and I hate what they're becoming, straight white cis guys were banned from the Scottish one, that flies in the face of my belief that equality is meant to be equal, not this reverse exclusion it is turning into.

I marched in the first pride parade I had ever attended. It was with a group of gay Jews, and it was a blast. I also made a friend while we marched, it was a beautiful day...

Went to Pride last year for the first time. Was okay, but not really my scene. Did get a little drunk though and it was 2pm which isn't something you can say very often unless you're an alcoholic.

We go to Pride every year. I've been in the Parade several times--with two different employers and with my partner's chorus. The best was definitely the one with my partner's chorus. In the morning there was just a torrential downpour and lots of concern about whether we were supposed to cancel or exactly what to do--lots of nervous milling about in the staging area. Then literally about five minutes before kickoff the rain stopped, the clouds cleared and the sun came out--it was really astonishing. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Our float had a big sound system. They were going to play the chorus's latest CD. At the last moment someone produced the soundtrack to Funny Girl and we ended up playing "Don't Rain on my Parade" on continuous loop. You would think that would be maddening for four hours. But people just went nuts continuously along the parade route. It was awesome!

I have walked in a pride parade before. A few times holding a flag and once with a few people from Dawson Creek in support. They wanted a pride parade in their city, so I decided to help them out a bit

    Depends on the pride parade.

I've seen one with people being almost naked wearing bunny ears and BDSM stuff...that's not really the picture I'd like the world to have on the LGBT community ......
