Well, not all the members, but has anyone noticed that people seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate lately? I looked at an old post yesterday and noticed 3 names I was familiar with were no longer members, and their posts were labeled Guest, meaning the account was deleted in one way or another.

So, are people getting bored of EC or something? >_<

And yes, the title is a very bad song pun

Why did they leave?
Jay said he was becoming too dependent on EC, so he deemed it best that he go. It makes me sad, but we still talk via MSN, so he's not entirely gone from me.

I didn't know anyone so I'm alright atm. perhaps we could start a goodbye sticky thread that people can post on to say they're going :S 'twould be good

Well, the reason why they didn't say goodbye is because they might've been talked back into staying.

Let's use this as an example...
What if Holly said she was leaving? Would any of you let her?
I strongly doubt it. Being the EC celebrity that she is, everyone would do their best to talk her into staying.

I think it is a natural part of what happens on a forum, rather than a reflection on EC. I also think that some people progress to a point where they no longer feel they need the support of EC like they once did.

That's part of why I had stopped hanging around. As it is, I still don't really need the support since I'm out, loud, and proud. But, I do hope I can help others, and at the very least, it's something else for me to surf at work if things are slow.

I've become a lurker, as of lately. I don't really get involved anymore, I post very little, etc. I just feel overwhelmed by all the new members and most the ones I met when I first got in here are gone. Plus I don't really have anything to say... I think I used to be more well known in the past when my posts were everywhere, as well. No one really knows me now.

I'm not about to "leave", but certainly, I don't pay as much attention to EC as I used to.

For the record, the staff does contact people when we know they are trying to delete their account and try to get to the reasons why they are leaving and hopefully talk them out of it. We don't like it when people leave either.
