This may be more appropriate in the gender identity and expression section, but it seemed too lighthearted, so here I am. I've been looking for names to use when I come out and I found Ashling. It means "dream" or "vision" and is associated with a poem genre featuring a damsel in distress. I think its a perfect name to adopt, because I have a dream that one day I will be viewed as a woman.

What do you guys and girls think? Any other really cool names you know?

I like it. It's unique but not too out there. Has a nice ring to it.

It would also mean, you know, a child/baby animal born out of the ashes of a fire, right? Like a phoenix

It's a really pretty name! Is it female or neutral (I was thinking about Ashley, maybe...).

    Great you're making progress!

There was a girl at my high school named Ashling. She's the only one I've ever met or heard of. I like it

I really like emmadances suggestion of using the spelling: Aisling.

The name is very unique and departs from the overused Ashley and Ashlyn out there. Plus you could go by "Ash" for a nickname if you wanted.

I think it's pretty. Also, Aisling is the name of a spirit/faerie in a beautiful animated feature called Secret of Kells. If you choose the name, you should definitely watch it!

I agree with going with Aisling. I have seen that movie. It's on Hulu. For anyone who is interested.
