I think it sucks that both groups have to have it hard. Regardless of who has it harder, it generally sucks for both of us.

    def gays
i have this one girl in our school and she's bi, more leaning
towards lesbian, and everyone seems fine with that, and
no one like insults her or anything.
and i hardly hear any jokes that degrades lesbians.
it's mostly gays who are hated and idk why

wow i'm really suprised to get a response so fast
still I didn't want to say it before but I did kinda think lesbians had it a bit easier by the way my friends talk on such matters I've heard, "being gay is wrong but not lesbian,"
    at my high school.

It depends. A lot of people treat gay guys worse than lesbians (possibly because a lot of straight guys find lesbians hot and gay guys wrong), but I've found that in the ... I don't want to use the phrase "gay community" because I really hate that term, but a lot of publications and whatnot focus far more on gay guys than lesbians. You'd think that the only gay or bi people around are guys sometimes.

I agree. I think the guys have it worse. And I also agree that it sucks for ALL of us,sometimes. Straight guys are definitely worse about gay guys, but usually love us lesbians! ( hmmmm...wonder why! lol!)
I think straight women, though, are more likely to accept gay guys.
When you're the same sex as the straight person, it is a lot less likely they're gonna
    be okay with you.

    gay guys have it worse.
no one calls me horrible names or anything
but my guy friend deals with a buch of shit.

i think straight guys like gay girls so much because its "hot" and somewhere in thier twisted minds they think they can get in on the action. haha one of my straight guy friends actually said that to me once i laughed.

Strait Fundamentalist Christian men make up more of the hate against homosexuals than anyone else, and in my mind they are all closet case porn-addicts who like to see two girls getting it on. So im sure they let lesbians slip "if they are hot" as ive heard many people say *roll eyes*. But these same people are also ashamed and awkward around Gays because to them thats the ultimate punishment, to be gay. Also its easier to be a lesbian mother to a child than a gay father to a child id think.

That said, Its no walk in the park for any of us. Id say hive it 50-100 more years and no one will look twice at a homosexual person. Society will adapt, it always has and always will. History can predict the future better than anything else.

sometimes i have the mind of a guy and turn everything into something preverted but i can honestly say ive never looked at a gay couple and thought about "gettin in on the action" ..im most likely to think "aw what a cute couple"

    Neither.

Lesbians of the butch variety are tormented just as much as t he feminine gay guys. If anything, lesbians have a tougher time being taken seriously. There's the girls who kiss others just to try it (right Katy?) and make everyone assume that there's no lesbians, just wild party girls.

Once people realize that lesbians really are lesbians, they're subjected to as much homophobia as everyone else. At least from my view.

I think lesbians have it easier as they are less likey to get beat up or just have general homophobic remarks made because somehow it is seen as hot to be lesbian but wrong to be gay.

Just look at China (i'm not sure whether this is up to date, but at least in teh last 5 years) gay men aren't allowed to have Public Displays of Affection whereas lesbians are allowed to.
I think public opinion is skewed by the STriahgt male's opinions and they are that lesbians=hot and gays=wrong.

but i do think lesbians have more of a problem being taken seriously, when they are celebrities who "kiss girls" for publicity, such as Katy Perry, Britney, Madonna and there's mroe i bet.
and coz these peopledon't publicy identify as Lesbian then people tend to think it is just a publicity stunt, and thus when a girl comes out as lesbian, a lot of people think it is attention seeking,
i've experienced this firsthand with a family friend who came out as a lesbian.
NO ONE believed her, and i dont know if she actually is or not...

but yeah in the grand scheme i think lesbians have it easier than gays...
both still have it pretty tough though.
