When people say "Gay"

If there is one thing on this earth that bugs it is the use of Gay as a negative word
"Thats so gay"
you might hear this a few times a day or how about a personal favorite of mine "fagot" I hate this word and the people stupid enough to use it!
you dont see me goin around sayin "that test was so straight!," or "omg your so straight"

Yeah,that's not a new thing. Kids were like that,way back when I was a kid.
You can choose to ignore it, or you can let it bother you.
Sometimes,the more they think it bothers you,the more they'll do it.
You could always come up with a clever retort,that's up to you.
I found it just easier to ignore.

I think its happens so much that people accept it as not being derogatory even though it is. Three options though.

Choose to not let it bother you.

Let it bother you and do nothing about it.

Confront the people who say it. Most people have the decency to stop saying it if causes you strife (this isn't necessarily true in high school). The people who do it to bother you aren't worth your time anyways.

Honestly it doesn't bother me either. People or kids don't understand its meanings anymore its not as derogatory as it used to be.
Take wanker for example...that is not described for masturbation anymore its used more often than not to describe someone who is not well liked (arsehole?!).
I think too many people, these days, are trying to be too politically correct. Just relax don't take it to heart and ignore all those things.

Well I'm bi so I'm not directly affected by it, but I still know how it can hurt sone ppl. But with all of the name slinging that I have witnessed and suffered, all I can say is that you can't let other ppl see that it affects you. It is a known fact that if some sees that they can hurt you they will be more inclined to do it. So all I can say is try to not let ppl see that it bothers you, and if you are so inclinded to do try to stop ppl from saying it, then all the power to you. i wouldnt mind the word gay but ever since i came out my best friends calls me gay like its a way of saying hello... for example..she will send me a text and start the conversation off by saying "Gay"...i told her to stop because it got annoying but she goes..but you are gay...so now when she says it i just ask her if she is too..haha

My brother calls Gays "Butt fucking diesese spreading faggots" and i die a little every time im even near him.

He dosnt know im gay thankfully, or he would do something really horrible that i cant even try and put into words im sure.

The word "Fag" alone gets me mad because the root of the word is just so offensive.
The word "Gay" im not so bad with, because its mostly used to mean "Stupid", Still not what its ment for but i can live with it (I let it slip sometimes because everyone around me says it so much)
