So, I work at Chapters, its like the canadian equivalent of Barnes & Noble. Anyway, I found out today that a guy I work with is gay. I kind of assumed, but my gaydar is so bad i didnt dare ask. On top of that, theres also two more gay guys at my store, a manager and a friend of mine. I find it kind of odd/funny that one store managed to have 4 in one go. I dunno, maybe its funny cause im really tired To make this thread have some point, is there anyone you know at your job who is "out" that you know of?
dont have a job..i quit because the lady i was forced to work with kept telling me gays will never marry and are going to hell. and the boss wouldnt need to work other hours >_< but 4 seems alot for once place.
I'm fifteen and don't have a job so this doesn't really apply to me, but I just wanna say that Chapters is awesome and you make the world a better place by working there. For serious.
There is one guy that others have told me is gay. However until he tells me himself I just consider it rumor.
Yes there are a lot more people who come out in workplaces because they are sure of there sexuallity.
Im pretty sure its because of which store it is. I mean what straight guy would wan't to work at Chapters?
I worked at a place with an openly gay guy. He is married, lives in Massachusetts. I thought of coming out to him at some point. But I know I could not trust him to keep a secret.
Unfortunately, pretty much anywhere I've ever worked I've been the only queer person. Same thing in college this year - I'm the only non-straight person in my class.
