So Friday during lunch I needed to pick up a couple of things for the office. While in the checkout line I notice a Nerf dart gun for $7. I decide what the hell and buy it. So I get back to the office and we are playing with it. It just plan sucks it, it just does not have any power. The effective range is about only about 5 ft. At this point people would just say it is only $7 and it sucked, throw it in a drawer and be done with it. Not me. I bring it home with me tonight and take it apart. It doesn't take long to find the problem. The tolerances on the piston in the air cylinder are just way too loose and there is excessive blow back. At this point a lot of people would say it sucks and throw it in the trash. So what do I do... I machine a new piston out of an old coke bottle cap. I put the gun back together and it works much better now. It has a good 20 foot effective range now and the darts will actually stick to stuff. So tomorrow is going fun at work. The best part is that I never realized the Nerf guns were so simple. I think I'll try my hand at building my own. I wonder if I can get chain fed Nerf darts.
No, mech geeks beat comp geeks. I'd put mech geeks at the top myself, closely followed by chem geeks xD
Well, I personally believe that drama/theatre geeks are at the top. But we're also completely full of ourselves, which explains thinking that. But that's so cool!! I want a nerf gun shotgun!
as a professional computer geek, i put mech geeks higher - anyone who can produce something as cool looking as that modded nerf gun gets my respect. I couldn't do it.
