Soooooooooo.... What is normally classified as "openly gay"? To a lot of folks seem like it means fitting the feminine gay sterotypes which, frankly, I don't. It only encourages the stereotype when people use it to describe themselves as being openly effeminate, which isn't correct. Anyone else have input?
IMO to be openly gay means that you're out to those who you interact with on a daily basis and when asked about your sexuality you don't deny it. So yea I agree with what the others have said.
I feel that "openly gay" means that most people in your life know that you are gay and that you say that you are gay if anyone asks. I don't think it necessarily means that you appear stereotypically gay at first glance.
In my opinion openly gay is when you don't deny you are gay to someone, and the people you care about know. Openly gay is not however, telling every stranger you meet on the street that you're gay.
