Good humor

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by anthonythegamer, Jul 14, 2015.

  1. What is good humor to you guys? What makes you laugh in response?

I personally find Family Guy/American Dad style humor to be hilarious. It constantly pushes the boundaries and they always make be laugh at some point. Basically politically-incorrect humor, but as long as it's done right

    cheap, vulgar, rude, taboo.
dark humor works, but I've run through all the jokes

that said, lighthearted and warm humor is even better if it's pulled off just right
just harder to manufacture than the dark and edgy stuff.

since I watched Weekend last night I'll use a scene from that as an example:

A lot concerning poorly imitating someone, though I ESPECIALLY find the Game Grumps to be my favorite humor, especially Dan's "Pass the Mustard" story! Well ANYTHING from Game Grumps is funny, especially the ash man bit!

Oh my gosh, YES! I absolutely LOVE the Game Grumps! Though, I find the older episodes with Jon in it to be extremely more hilarious than the ones with Danny in it but he's still a really funny guy (well, except for the past few months, they've been really slacking in the humor department), just not when it comes to Jon. I love how spontaneous he was and he wasn't afraid to joke about anything when it came to race, sexism, abuse, etc. Now, the newer Grumps have slowly become politically correct, it's almost sad and they're losing their charm.

Dry, dry, dry humor. That's me.

Anything that's said with a straight face, especially when the person saying it isn't intentionally trying to be funny - they just are. It's all about double meanings and hidden implications.

Like in The Big Bang Theory.

Or dry humor that is perpetuated by someone very sharp and clever, on purpose.

Or witty, silly, eccentric goofiness like in Doctor Who.

Relatable humor is also good, which is why I like dry humor I suppose.

I absolutely disdain vulgar humor and think it's completely stupid.
