I'm not genderqueer, but I hate the way I'm treated when people know I'm female. Anyone else do this?
I used to pretend to be female online when I was younger and I still have female rp characters so umm...that's similar I guess. I was gonna ask "What way are you treated?" but then I stopped and thought about it and now I'm not sure I wanna know because if it's anything like my adventures pretending to be female there are lots of "Send pics plz" involved ;_;
On some websites I usually don't tell anyone I'm female because I always get asked for "pics." Yeah, no. I'm not easy xD
In online games where people are assumed to be guys, I let them call me "he". I like it. They treat me as an equal in the way they wouldn't if they thought of me as a girl.
I have never pretended to be a gender I'm not, but sometimes I've deliberately not made my gender known. Using cute anime avatars seems to cause people to assume I'm female.
So you pretend to be genderqueer? I'm not bashing you or anything, I just think it's interesting. In my experience, telling people online that you're anything outside of the binary usually leads to worse reactions than declaring yourself as male or female. I suppose you're probably hanging around the more open-minded parts of the internet though :lol:
I would've figured that sporn saying she is male would've been a more simplistic solution if that were the case.
