Yeah... So I took my glasses off because I have a headache, and as I was switching the overhead light off so just my lamp was on, my hand crashed into the wall rather hard because I thought I had 5 more inches to go when my fingers were already touching the switch. Yeah... random information about me
I've done that so many times. Even with my glasses, I have such shocking depth perception that I don't trust myself to drive, and walk into things regularly.
I still drive because I'm fine when I have my contacts/glasses. My hand just hurts like a motha' right now.
I guess your eyes have different degrees of a sight problem. For example, if one of your eyes is normal and the other one is nearsighted, your depth perception is distorted, as depth perception is based on the small differences between what the eyes see. People who can see with only one eye have no depth perception at all due to this reason.
One time I had a very bad allergic reaction to something I got in one of my eyes. It swelled up very badly and I could not see out of it. I ended up having to drive my self to the doctor and that sucked. Trying to merge onto the interstate with no depth perception was no fun at all.
I got you beat. I once overstepped on a staircase, and my mind physically knew it, but I couldn't stop my body. Took a faceplant down onto the concrete -.- Thank god those bushes were there to grab onto XD
I have a depth perception problem so hand eye coodination is a real grrrrr!! especially when trying to hit the ball in tennis, cricket etc where i always swing the bat over or under the ball!!
I have days when my depth perception is off too. We have a glass kitchen table and last night I was sitting drinking soda and I would go to put my glass down and slam it on the table cause I think its farther down than it is.
What about....once, it was night and I was going to bed. I stood in the doorway to the living room, flicked off the switch and promptly walked right into the wall in front of me. I was only a foot away to start with....
