People who aren't from the United Kingdom, post too!

I'm wondering who people will vote for and which part is the most popular here.

Stick with these options, because voting for the smaller partys is a waste of time.

    Liberal Democrats
    Labour
    Conservatives

    I'll start ~ I would vote for Conservative :3

I'm in favour of the Liberal Democrats. But I don't know who I would actually vote for given the chance.

I don't vote, I don't know anything about politics, and don't care either.

By Australian law i can be sent to jail for not voting (Ment to register when you turn 18). Thus losing my right to vote. Ironic much haha

conservative, but as a vote against labour more than for the conservatives. I don't think much of Cameron, he has no substance in my opinion, but i want to get rid of Brown, and a vote for the lib dems is a waste of a vote since they will never win. So i will probs vote conservative, but by default more than anything else!

and unless he calls an election soon, which is unlikely, i will be able to vote at the next election!! wooooo

Hmmm, I don't really have any interest in voting for any of them. I think they're all a bunch of morons who do nothing but make false promises. :eusa_naug

If I had to vote then I would go for the Liberal Democrats. Cameron just seems to say loads without actually saying anything, and Brown has the most dull voice ever and is trying to make himself look like the world saviour because of the recession, which is stupid considering it's far from overrrr.

British politics annoys me and is boring.

I like Cameron :3 I met him once at an Oxford University luncheon because one of my family's friends teaches at the college he went to. He seemed really nice ~

British politics are fascinating. Also, the Liberal Democrats just get laughed at in parliament and they hardly have a huge share of constituencies in the UK, so it wouldn't be a vote well spent..

I always live in hope that the Lib Dems win one year. And this time, I am actually able to vote and attempt to make a difference.

Hmmm, just because they may have no chance of winning doesn't mean you shouldn't vote for them. You can make a difference without winning, ya know. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::

Meh, I don't like Conservative OR Labour, if I'm honest. And I'd prefer to at least cast a vote than say "Well the people I support won't get in anyway so why bother?" Who knows? My vote may actually do something.

But what if most people have the same theory as you, without you knowing it?

I wasn't asking because I thought it was a waste of a vote, I was just curious as to if there was any particular policy the Liberals had that you liked. It seems everyone is voting for anyone just as long as Labour don't get the vote :3

also am i the only one who feels rather cynical about the whole system,in that all the parties are thesedays largely the same. Our 3 main parties all occupy the centre ground. To a certain extent i feel whoever is in power, very little will actually change. Or am i just overly cynical :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ?!?!

It's not a problem with the parties or the system, it's a problem with the British people. British people are used to a certain standard now (clean water, NHS, free schools ect) and so all of the parties have to support these things otherwise they simply won't be elected.

Although I wouldn't say that they're all the same, as they differ on very key points (mosty fiscal) which, although aren't apparant and easy for the public to scrutinize, are very important for day to day life, as they affect basic things like oil and food prices.

For those who don't know ~

Conservative - Low taxes, smaller government
Labour - Quite high taxes, larger government
Liberal democrats - Not sure on where they stand on this, but i'll just assume Labour with steroids.

im still cynical about it lol, theyll do what they need to do and say to get into power, where upon they will quickly start going back on many promises they made and we end up with a watered down version of what we voted for.
