As you grow up, you mature, physically and mentally. But of course, some people still live in their minds as children. They might do childish things a lot, or just like media intended towards kids. What mental age would you say you are?

I took a quiz once like this, and it told me that I have a mind of a 16-21 year old. I'm child-ish, but I still know when to be serious and good. So, I'm balanced between seriousness and childness. (I know that's not a word, but I'm my own Shakespeare, kapeesh?)

I have always felt older for some reason that I can't explain. I feel like I should be 40-50. In elementary school, I felt like I should be retiring... I have a hard time relating to people my own age, but have no problem talking to older people.

I'm a sophomore, so I definitely feel older than I actually am, around 16.

Crap.. I can be a big kid on one hand. Yet, very mature, but not too serious on the other. Hmm...

Probably 8-12 developmentally as a result of the body/mind disconnect. (Relationships, jobs, ability to focus, independence, identity stability... etc.)

Maturity connects most strongly with stability of identity, at around 13 or so most children start developing their identity and begin creating more intimate interpersonal relations as a result. This gives them independence and gives them the desire and need for stability. I never went through that stage, so never really advanced beyond 8-12 in certain areas of my life...

However, I am highly developed in relation to wisdom as a nice side effect of the disconnect: Understanding of others, recognition of patterns, perception of the world, intuition... etc, which ultimately, balances out the lack of maturity in other areas of my life.

I feel older than I am (30s, I suppose), but once I actually reach that age I'll probably scoff at the idea that I could've ever felt that old at 20.

Right now? Around 15. Wanna cry like a baby but still mature enough to hold back the tears.

I've thought about this a lot! My mental age usually feels around 17/18/19, and that isn't a surprise. To make a long story short; I was in my late teens when my personality really began fixing itself after mental damage I endured when I was 11/12/13/14/15 years old.

I took a mental age test online; the test kept giving me pop-up boxes saying "Please slow down!" because I was too quick clicking the answers  here it is - Mental Age Test and I wouldn't put too much stock in this test, especially because this test thinks I'm mentally 30-something years old!

I've never quite liked the idea that maturity can be measured in year groups if those year groups don't actually accord with the level of maturity being talked about.

Even with that said, I don't see my mental age as any different from my literal age. I feel very much like a 17 year old in practically every way.

I feel pretty close to my actual age, so I voted for the 18-25 range. Sometimes I feel too young for the things that are expected of me -- when I try to imagine myself working in my future career field, for example --, sometimes I feel too old for my peers, but in general, yeah, this is my age.

Agreed! I feel like I can be such a child sometimes, I'm super enthusiastic doing childish things. I still sleep with my plushies and enjoy things like bouncy houses (I fake my age and pass off as eleven) and childish stuff like that.
Mentally, I do feel older most of the time. I mean, whenever I talk to someone my age on EC, they are great to talk to. However, most teenagers I know in real life, they just aren't mature enough to uphold fun discussions. Some are, but most people I've seen at school and stuff, they are judgemental, and there's gossip and going out with people you don't like for popularity, and meh. I can't stand most of them. I have better conversations with adults, and I sometimes feel older than I am...maybe seventeen or something?

It honestly changes depending on the situation, but I act very childish most of the time. Like middle schooler age childish. When I need to, I am very mature though.

    My maturity transcends age!

In other words, I'm not ready to commit to any level of maturity and even if I was I'd be too stubborn to admit it.
