As it turns out, I had plenty of time (in the mornings especially) to hit up EC, so I wasn't really gone much. But I did have a good time. What I saw: a really nice hotel room, staffs who were really happy to see crowds again, friendly tourists, rather annoying UFC fans, Ka (a Cirque du Soleil show), La Reve (a Cirque-like show), and Top of the World (the rotating restaurant on the top of the Stratosphere). What I didn't see: the Grand Canyon and the Strip, from a helicopter. Decided I didn't want to go along with the others for that. I went and got a spa treatment instead. What I ate: way way way too much. What I didn't do enough of: exercise. Only two shortish stints in the exercise room. I DID walk a lot, though. Vegas job I might actually want someday: croupier/craps dealer. There's lots of math involved, and generally people are quite friendly. Vegas job I'd never ever want: Hostess at the buffet. Keeping tourists away from their all-you-can-eat shrimp for even ten seconds can be dangerous. Amount of money won by Pubert at the craps tables when I watched: $1142. Amount of money wont by Pubert at the craps tabels when I wasn't there: -$974. Total for trip: up $168. What I'll do from here on out: always watch Pubert when he's playing craps. Why I don't gamble: We had some spare time before our ride to the airport, so Pubert suggested we hit the craps tables again. He wasn't doing too great - down about $50 on a $10 minimum table. The dealer suggested I put some of the chips in front of me, in case somebody else came along (so I could "keep my spot"). I did. As the dice came around, Pubert asked if I'd want to roll. I figured he meant "roll for him", so I said "Sure." Instead, he said, "Well, then, put down $10." Oh, so he wants me to bet, too. OK. So I bet $10 (along with everybody else) and rolled. Double 1s. Craps. Everybody loses. OK, no big deal. Try again. Bet $10 (along with everybody else) and roll. Double 1s. Craps. Everybody loses. I laugh. One more try. Bet $10 (along with everybody else) and roll. Double 6s. Craps. Everybody loses. Odds of crapping out three times in a row: 1 in 4096. But I did it. Lost us $60 in less than a minute. I just stopped after that. Lex |

But by the same token, I don't gamble, I don't drink (much), I don't smoke. So one would think I'd hate Vegas. But I actually enjoy going. I just like to go and look at stuff, and there's a ton of stuff to look at there. Whenever I had some spare time, I'd grab my camera and go picture taking.
