Hello, everyone. Today was a slow day for me. I was very tired, and very bored. Lucky for me, Netflix exists! Yay! Movie time. What are your favorite film genres? Do you like exciting action or adventure films, or are you more of a person that prefers comedies or musicals? Maybe you enjoy science-fiction, or historical films? Or... maybe you like everything! I personally enjoy anything except documentaries, and sometimes horror, mostly because I get very jumpy.
Where is the Fantasy option? So many huge fantasy films... Personally, I'll watch pretty much anything.
I couldn't find romance on the list. I also am a huge fan or horror. I love dystopian movies. Movies like Never Let Me Go, V for Vendetta, The Hunger Games, Resident Evil (first film), Omega Man, 1984, Alien/Aliens, Children of Men, I Am Legend, The Purge, Battle Royale. I love the movies that are set in these very intricate and bizarre dystopian worlds, often with an interesting take on a relatable moral conundrum. Or with some important point to convey about society and us humans.
I'll watch pretty much anything other than musicals. I'm not a huge fan of Sci-fi but I appreciate the genre. I go for Horror, comedy or suspense!! I've also been watching a lot of indie movies lately but they fall under the genres mentioned
I really don't have a favorite. I mean, i like all kinds of movies. The only kind I watch is romance, but they are very stereotypical. If I watch a romantic movie, it's easy to see what will happen next cuz I've seen it all before. Though, I still can't get enough of it. I also like ones that are really weird. Like The Sisterhood of Night, or ones that are not rated. Not Rated movies are the best, because you never know what they're going to be like! They're just cool and fun to watch.
Horror. Anything remotely macabre is something Im into. Comes with being goth *blackened hair flip of death* But some of my favorite movies are The Exorcist, Alien, Saw, The Crow, The Strangers, House of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects. The more terrifying the better!
I rarely watch crime and history movies, it just dont appeal to me. I will only watch it if the artists on that movie are good I watch the all other given genre, but horror is mah fave mooovie <3 Tho I am very choosy in watching horror movie, most of the horror movies that comes out this days are cliché.
Everything but comedy and musical (and I've also ticked 'horror', although I can enjoy it a little bit- but not that much). I also enjoy films which would be classified as 'indie' or 'art house' eg french, Italian, Polish cinema etc. eg. Chabrol, Antonioni, Wim Wenders - etc, I've seen quite a few, but I tend to forget the titles & I have to be in the mood to actually see this kind of thing- they often tend to not be 'fun' but 'interesting' & it can feel a bit like work watching them. My favourite ones could be classified as 'paranoid thrillers' maybe? eg. The Conversation or 'Parallax view' (political thriller), "Side Effects", also 'Spy Thrillers', then in the second place sci- fi and maybe action- something which really draws you in. I cannot stand romantic comedies- they really, really irritate me. Get together already, and don't get sidetracked by a lost suitcase, or something equally ridiculous. ---------- Post added 5th Aug 2015 at 05:16 PM ---------- I am with you on the distopian worlds & I like your list, it's got some films I have yet to see (and one I have no interest in seeing - Battle Royal- nope). Children of Men looks good- cheers for the tip
Action is a favorite of mine. Will admit if a movie has natural (or man-made) disasters, guns, explosions, etc., I'm interested haha.
Horror's definitely my favorite, though I hate slasher films. Sci-Fi's probably second. I like good comedies...but frankly, they're just hard to come by. I don't know if my standards are just extremely high or if it's hard to make a good comedy film, but most comedies just don't do it for me. Action/Adventure movies have the potential to be amazing if they're done well, but unfortunately, there are a lot that aren't done well. There are some animated movies that I just love, but for some reason, I just find it harder to connect or get sucked in with animated movies as opposed to live-action films.
I'm definitely a horror movie fan. Especially the psychological kind (not so much gore and torture, thanks). I also love a good animated movie and also realistic dramas (that may not have the happiest endings)
Suspense. Those are the ones I am most intrigued by. They also jog your brain as you try to figure things out. The same is true with drama. I also like comedy. I'm mixed on crime. It would depend on how gross it is. I don't like science fiction. I don't like horror, either, since it's a trashed up version of suspense and crime in most cases.
I'm a horror junkie, but am also quite fond of sci-fi and animation (anything to the tune of Studio Ghibli). Psych thrillers are always a good time. Pretty much anything creative. I'm pretty picky with films, and only really enjoy top-of-the-line or bottom-of-the-bucket movies. None of this mediocre crap.
