    How long after first discovering EC did you just lurked and posted nothing?


    Personally, I lurked without joining and just read for about three months.

    For about a week. I really needed advice, I was just tentative about joining a forum without my parent's knowledge. But my desire to come out to my mom weighed over that paranoia, thankfully.

    It was a few months I think, so I threw in a guess and said three months. I knew it was at least a good while because I had been lurking on a number of forums at the time, more so just to scan for advice on various questions and issues that had sprang to mind, rather than actually wanting to be involved.

    I think it was within a few days that I first posted.

    At any given time hundreds of people could be viewing EC without being, or choosing to become members. Our threads, conversations and resources help just as many 'lurkers' as members.
