So, changing rooms, I'm not talking about the type most swimming pools have either, you know those type of changing rooms in P.E or something where all the girls change together in one room, and all the boys in another. Does anyone else find them awkward? I know I certainly do, I have P.E twice a week (thank god im on summer break atm, it will be once a week after the summer though thank god) and I've caught myself checking out a few of the girls several times. Does anyone else have similar issues?

Yeah. I've had that problem for my whole life. Never understood what people meant when they said it was "just girls". Now I know.

No it doesn't bother me. I change in a little area in my locker room with my friends so I'm not surrounded by girls that I'm not friends with. It's never bothered me and it never will, I don't check out anyone (but sometimes I may steal a glance at my crush who only has her bra on by accident) and I never really feel the need to because that's just a violation of someone else's privacy and I feel that it's morally wrong for me to do so.
(Though speaking of checking out girls I've had more than my share because I was on a field trip in April and we were at this place called Pine Mountain and we were staying there for four days. There were no locks on the bathroom stall doors for whatever reason. So I open up a stall door, forgetting to check if someone was there, and I accidentally got a full frontal nude view of my crush. It was so embarrassing but I haven't forgotten a single thing.)

I was shocked when I was twelve years old and told that I would have to use a changing room with girls.

Me: What!? But there are girls in there!
My Mom: So what? You're a girl too.
Me: Is that supposed to make it okay!?

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it even nowdays. I get out of there as soon as possible! That way I won't get a chance to look/stare at anyone... That could be even more awkward. They know I'm gay. It wouldn't go unnoticed.

Im trans, and I can say changing rooms are a bit of a living hell. I have gym class once school starts up in a couple of days, and I am not feeling particularly excited to say the least.

It feels like I'm always being watched, because I identify as female, in a male locker room, but no one knows that. It is a very uncomfortable thing. It just reminds that I am biologically female, no matter what I do, until I transition which will most likely not happen for a long time, I'm still "one of the guys" I mean, if there is a cute guy, then maybe I would check them out, briefly of course.... :/ lol.

Yes, I have never liked locker rooms. I don't think anyone likes them, but they're even worse for LGBT kids.

Thankfully I haven't had to use one since sophomore year P.E., but I hated them then. For one, I'm not too comfortable being in my underwear in front of other kids, let alone having people see how pale and thin I am (of course I hated P.E. in general, being incredibly unathletic).

Then there's the added awkwardness of checking out other guys, which I naturally did do. I was never obvious about it and no one bugged me about it, but it still made me uncomfortable knowing that I had to force myself not to look, since I was always worried that I'd be caught and called out as gay. That never happened, but the paranoia was there nonetheless.

Not really. They did smell a bit though.

Personally, since the changing rooms in most pools I go to are also bathrooms, I prefer to go into the stall to change. I'm a little bit wierded out about the idea of getting naked close to other people I don't know well enough to trust. I'm also a bit ashamed of my body, I admit. It's not that I'm obese or anything, it's just that I don't like it very much.

Yes! I can't stand them. I don't like changing in front of others.

Hate 'em, when I was in junior high/high school, I'd always change in the shower stalls, everyday from grade 7-12.

Omg you speak my exact thoughts, OP! Trust me, tou are not alone. My eyes wander WAYYY too much, and I feel so boyish, perverted and guilty. Also, terrified someone will catch me. But it is like I'm under some type of spell, cos I just STARE. I prefer stalls too, so I don't take advantage of the opportunity and humiliate myself openly. Also, one more reason for not liking change rooms is cos people will notice the cuts on my legs...

With regard to locker rooms in gyms, I do find them somewhat awkward, but I'm getting better at ignoring my feelings about them.

That about sums it up for me. I basically try not to make eye contact with anyone in a locker room and keep my eyes above chest level. I definitely do not want to seem like I am checking anyone out, even though I'm pretty sure straight guys are checking each other out (sizing the competition?)...

Occasionally, I do see a really hot guy in his underwear and I take a mental snapshot  but other than that.... RUN!

I have always preferred changing in the stalls as I was almost always caught by my crush staring at him. He was like "what you looking at boy" and it was awkward being caught, I tried not to stare but it was like I instinctively stared at boys.

So what I did was pretty much got in the stall and then the boys started saying Get out of the stalls. I was just like no way cause I know what I'll do and how you would react and I hated that

    Absolutely NOT!!!

it used to be a little awkward when i was in my 17 to 20 because i was rather fat and awkward kid but since i start working out i feel much more comfortable with myself and became a lot more confident.

gym locker room / changing rooms are my favorite to stare at some hot guys :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
usually i started off with "nice guns, how long have you been working out? Mind sharing me some workout tips?" or "that's a great pecs you have. How much do you bench?" that way i can keep staring and not having an awkward conversation.:icon_redf

Not really. Everyone's in there for the same reason.

When PE was mandatory at school, I did dislike how inefficient the other guys were and how much time they spent bantering and mucking around with deodorant. But I didn't find it awkward, just irritating.

I bet it's a ton easier for those with little to no body shame.

I dont think shes given enough respect for what she has done in the trans. Community. She has encouraged allot of other people to do the same. But yet she still is a rich person so it may get to her head and cause disrespectful comments and behavior as a celebrity

Eh, yeah it was quite awkward. I didn't like showing my bare body to everyone. I was quite insecure about my body(Wasn't everybody?), and I had to deal with it. But I always got dressed quickly so I could be the first one out, and I usually was. I never checked anyone out really, but it fascinating looking at other girls. I was just glad that I wasn't the only one that was getting undressed, ya know?

I absolutely HATE changing rooms. Some of our teachers let us get changed in the toilets, which I don't mind, as I can just use a unisex stall.
But when we have to use the changing rooms, I hate it as the girls spray cheap perfume everywhere, which must be a nighmare if you have asthma. It's really cramped, absolutely boiling, and what's more, I only like about 2 or 3 people I have to get changed with.
However, every cloud has a silver lining. There's this one girl who loves showing off to everyone her sexy underwear, and doesn't mind talking face to face in her bra and knickers. I endure the changing rooms just for that!
