My daughter wants to go to Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado. But when I was checking in to it, I found this on their website: http://www.fca-schools.org/index.php/resources/documents/employment/150-application-master/file It is a clear case of discrimination. Is it legal for a school to discriminate in this way?
As far as I know, private schools that do not accept public funds are free to discriminate based on, essentially, whatever they choose. Oral Roberts University, a school for religious wingnuts, is an excellent school in terms of academic rigor and quality of teaching... but they forbid gay people, interracial dating and have all sorts of racist and discriminatory practices. They don't get federal financial aid, or qualify for regional accreditation because of their backwards beliefs, but they're allowed to do what they do. I suspect the same is true of the school you're describing. It sucks, but it's what it is.
