Are you fond of watching street magics or magic shows? Who's your favorite magician? What magic trick your favorite magician did is your favorite? And to those who are EC magicians, what magic tricks can you do?
Love it...can be tremendously entertaining when done well. I grew up with Doug Henning and David Copperfield. But Penn and Teller are hands-down my favorites, because they are hilarious, edgy, and realistic and up-front about what it is they do (they even show you how they do most tricks, to convince you no magic was involved...it's even more magical after seeing some of these explanations!). I can do some basic card tricks that are silly but fun. Beyond cards, my sleight-of-hand has never been well-enough practiced to do much else. But I love learning about it all, and occasionally pick up a new skill here and there.
Penn and Teller are excellent, I agree. I have not honestly seen many other specific magicians; I mostly watch compilation "best of" videos on YouTube, but I am always impressed. I should look into more magicians. As for me, I can do some card tricks. I am at least the only person in my group of friends who does any. I love wowing them, even if they are fairly simple tricks. I have gotten better recently, though, and when I go to a party, my friend will often tell others "You have to see [Wallace], he has great card tricks!" Of course, doing one while drunk is an entirely different experience...
I like Dynamo and Derren Brown. Derren can scare the shit out of me sometimes though and I'm not sure if he's even a magician. I think it's illusionist.
Oh Derren Brown is amazing. I also think Penn and Teller do great magic, particularly Teller's sleight of hand. Ps. I do card magic. Nobody calls me their favourite magician.
