What alternative style do you find appealing? Even if you don't wear it. I wear neo-medival and neo-Victorian gothic. I love the dark elegance. But I like throwing some shiny accessories and sometimes colourful makeup. My wardrobe includes Gothic Lolita and Aristocrat styles. I like "Classic Lolita" and steampunk styles as well, but do not wear them (although I like wearing steampunk accessories). Cyber-goth admittedly looks quite nice. I have worn the cyberlox before. I went through a short Decora phase when I was younger. I look back and cringe, because it didn't suit me. But I still love lots of accessories. It is so interesting to see the creativity of people in the alternative scene, especially in Japan. Each person's style represents their own unique identity.
I really appreciate the Victorian gothic, gothic lolita/lolita in general, cyber gothic, steampunk and all these sort of alternative fashion. I want to also get involved in these fashions too soon.
I like a retro-80s-punk-new wave look; sometimes more like the Ramones, sometimes, more synthetic, like Gary Newman. Or the early skate-punk look. But I also like aspects of other eras; 30s-40s-50s-60s-70s...and tend to mix them, depending on my mood. After those decades, things seem to more or less just keep recycling themselves. And there are aspects of earlier eras I like, but that stuff would have to be custom made. Anyone wanna make a donation? =p I need to start a go-fund me fashion page
Gothic Lolita is not cosplay, unless you are dressing up as a character who is Gothic Lolita. It is like saying other forms of Gothic is cosplay
Punk dress in general is pretty cool- I like some of the music but disagree with rebellion just to rebel so I just think the outfits are neat.
I am casual goth at the moment, but soon enough I will go to a more Trad Goth mixed with Deathrock fashion. I love goth rock and deathrock, amongst a lot more music and fashion associated with being goth. I agree, cyber is awesome and gets too much hate from the alternative community. Musically and fashionably, I am very goth.
