    So, as many of you probably know, that clown Donald Trump is running polls right now, despite rampant sexism, racism, and likely a whole lot of 'isms' more. He's saying big things, like say building a wall on the Mexican border, but doesn't seem to have much to back up all his big promises. But I'm sure "management" will take care of it.
    Anyways, do you guys think he'll have any chance to get the nomination? Or is he a fading flash in the pan? Also explain why you think so.

    He will more than likely fade after the primaries.

    The thing with Trump is he's trolling people that are pissed off about stuff that's not an easy fix like immigration. He knows he can amp up a crowd by making fun of Mexicans but at the end of the day we all know his immigration plan is complete BS

    He's a bit of a unique candidate, since he has enough money to fund his campaigns for as long as he wishes, and doesn't have to rely on donors like many of politicians do. Simply because of this, he might have a chance at getting the GOP nomination but I don't think he'll stand a chance against Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton when it comes time to vote.

    I don't think he does and that's why I think he'll fade after the primaries. Trump is not as wealthy as he wants people to think he is, even if he has a net worth of 4 billion which I think is false, he has far less than that in liquid funds as Mark Cuban pointed out and campaigning is VERY expensive.

    He's like Nigel Farage, he has gained popularity because of his devisiveness, but he will become the victim of his own success. Kaisch is gaining popularity and I hope he is chosen, I would vote for him for president if I could, America's deficit is just far too high and it needs to be brought under control.

    Honestly, I would vote for "Deez Nuts" over Hilary and Trump. I just don't like both of them. We need to elect Bernie Sanders for president instead.

    Considering how some people are, it depends really. I personally want to believe he has no chance in hell, but I've seen people at Trump rallies and they worry me.

    Frankly, the idea of Donald Trump winning the nomination would have once seemed laughable. But I'm not sure it couldn't happen. He might appeal to Republican-faithful primary voters given his positions, and the fact that he's outside government. The fact he's done well in polls might be in his favor, too: some might see him as being popular enough to actually win the Presidency.

    Keep in mind, the Republicans thought George W. Bush was Presidential material. Keep in mind that they also thought that Sarah Palin was ideal Vice President material.

    But...who knows? When formal primary season begins, saner thinking might prevail.

    Of course, Trump could continue on as an independent. In a way, if he loses the nomination, I hope he does continue as an independent, since that would just about guarantee that the conservative vote will be split enough that the Democrat will win. I'm not sure how much it helped, but I wonder if Clinton's win in '92 wasn't at least partly helped by Ross Perot running as an independent.

    Trump may have financial limits, as stated above. I don't know his situation well enough to say. But I think he probably could find the cash to run some sort of campaign. One plus he has: he could be capable of saying and doing things that make him a top news story. He could potentially spend $0 on ads, and yet be in the news enough that all voting Americans are very conscious of him.

    I don't think it would be impossible that he might make it to the nomination. I just don't see how he could win the actual presidential election, save some enormous failure on the Democrats' part.

    If the party bigwigs are able to put their foot down on him, recognising him as an unelectable loose cannon, I imagine they will. But I don't know if there is any mechanism by which they could do so.
