Well in Latin class we were picking out Latin names. If you've taken Latin, you probably know that all Latin names either end in "a" or "us" and that's basically indentifying someone by one gender or another, whenever their name is called. Imagine saying "hi girl." Or "hi boy." All the time. My being genderfluid, you can probably see my problem. I've come out to my teacher, explaining my problem, and she's willing to try to come up with something. Any Latin takers out there? Do you know any gender neutral Latin names??? Please help.
I don't think such a name exists. You would have to modify the name, which then would not be an accurate Latin name anymore. You could try choosing a name of your opposite physical sex.
I would choose a name opposite, but then that would mean having to probably come out, as the class would undoubtedly wonder...
Umm... Neuter Latin names don't really exist, I'm sorry. There are neuter nouns but not names. Back then gender fluidity wasn't really a big thing with the Romans I guess.
It's just a thing for a class, it doesn't actually mean anything no matter what your real gender is. I'd just pick a name I think sounds cool~
What everyone else said. There are neutral nouns, but not names; at least from what I remember with the "three years" of Latin I took in high school.
Id say if it makes you feel comfortable just pick a noun you like! Cicero's last name meant "chickpea". Names are just words that signify you, pick one you like. Maybe your teacher can help!
