I think it's cool that he's supported LGBTQ+ rights before it was common. I definitely pick him over Hillary and 2016 is the first election I can vote in yay! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Just wanted to know what everyone else thinks of Bernie

He's the only person that actually got me to care about politics.

I think he's the president the United States so desperately needs.

I think he's the most honest and ideologically pure candidate in the entire race, and I'm happy to be voting for him in the Democratic Primary.

Not my first choice, but I would pick him before Hillary and Biden any day. Leaning more towards John Kasich at this point, but nothing is nailed down.

I like him. Although I am trying not to like him enough that I get attached to the idea of him being the nominee. Too many past experiences of liking a candidate who ends up losing early in the primary cycle...

I am guessing WA will select a nominee late enough that it may be a done deal by that point. But if there is still a race going on, I might actually go to the local Democrat caucus for the first time ever.

I'm praying that he gets the nom and then the presidency~~ He's never wavered in his views on the wars in the middle east ("don't go" and now "get out"), lgbt and racial equality programs, wealth distribution, affordable college/university... the list goes on. Bernie all the way! :soapbox:

I don't know a whole lot about any of our candidates but I do know that Rand Paul is really progressive despite being a Republican. My Facebook feed is filled with Bernie Sanders and I'm really liking what I'm seeing there. I plan on looking more into this years candidacy. If there was ever a time to finally go out and vote, it would be now.

He reminds me of Ron Paul (some issues aside), and all the hype he had -- and then, of course, he didn't make it to the end.

Call it politics or a conspiracy, but I would be very surprised if Bernie Sanders made it to the end. I do think, maybe, that the media will appeal to the whole 'will he or will he not?' mentality of people when it comes to his possibly winning.

I don't know if he has the gall to break the status quo, because the status quo likes where things are in Washington, at least when it comes to economic and legal standards.

I worry about some of his populist undertones, but he is in my mind more trustworthy than Clinton and a great deal better than any of the Republican candidates.

Unlike politicians like Jeremy Corbyn and his ilk, Sanders is by no means totally unrealistic; some of what are regarded as his more radical policies are simply to bring the US into line with the rest of the world's rich democracies, such as in healthcare reform.

I agree with him on some social things, but if I could vote I wouldn't go for him just because his economic ideas are ridiculous.

I side with him 95% of the time when I took the 'I Side With' quiz, so he can't be that bad. He's quite old though, and will be even older by 2016. Even Hillary will be knocking on a bit. Will a nearly-80 year old be up to the task?

I got 1% for Ted Cruz, lol. The only other candidates that I agree with more than 80% are Hillary Clinton and Martin O'Malley.

I know this thread is about LGBT issues, but there's a lot more to running the U.S. than LGBT issues, such as our economy, the economy of the entire globe, peace and defense, public health policy, global warming, and even what changes, if any, will be made to the ACA - the Affordable Care Act.

I am not that crazy about Sanders. I was hoping he would be more moderate than what he really is. I'd take him over Clinton. I'd say O'Malley>Biden>Gore>Sanders>Clinton. The bottom of the pile consists of Trump, Cruz, and Santorum. Trump has been making this a zoo and only a hair better than his reality shows. I really disliked Scott Walker but was blown away when he indicated that he wanted to keep a form of the ACA, retaining its most popular features. That drew ire from the GOP. Now, I just dislike him a little less.

I'm a supporter of him. I'd much rather have him than Hillary Clinton. I took the I Side With Quiz, and I actually side most with Clinton and Sanders second, but I have lost all trust and respect for Clinton. I trust Sanders on many issues and would gladly vote for him.
