UPDATED: September’s Anti-Gay Bullying Suicides – There Were A Lot More Than 5 | The New Civil Rights Movement
Many suicides of gay kids happened in Spetember 2010. Many of these kids were bullied, causing them to kill themselves in anguish. Remember the consequences of your words, and always help those going through rough times or being bullied. May they rest in peace, and may this tragedy bring to light the issue of bullying, especially to LGBT kids.
Rise Against, one of my favorite bands, made a song tribute to the events and the music video is especially heartbreaking.

Let's all have a moment of silence for anyone driven to suicide due to bullying and not being accepted.

It was really sweet of you to do this, I'm surprised no one else came on here to have a moment or maybe to just comment. I salute you and have a good night you fudgin' rock (!)(!)(!)

I remember these stories back then. It was heart breaking. I especially remember Jamey Rodemeyer's suicide-- which happened in September 2011. I cried when hearing about it.

I was bullied a lot for my sexual orientation, especially in 2009/2010. I never even told anyone, so the thought that people could just tell was the worst part. If not for the It Gets Better project, I don't know where I would be today. Thank you for this post.

There are people of faith who care about LGBT kids. The tide is turning, albeit slowly.

I brought up the topic to my gay/bi men's group of LGBT teen suicide and teen bullying. I provided an article in for the topic and shared this song to the presenter for the group. People need to realize that this is real. I pray for those kids stuck in horrible bullying situations, especially those with no family support. It makes me cry. I know because I've been there. I can't listen to this song without crying, esp. the video.

I never knew about this? I mean, I was only 11, so it makes sense that I wouldn't have known. Yikes. This is sad.
