So, have you bought your christmas presents (for friends, family, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.) already or do you have at least some ideas?

Oh lord, don't make me think about Christmas! I never have any idea what to buy anyone. I probably ought to start thinking about it in October at the latest, last year all my gift-buying was so last-minute!

(At least I save everyone else the trouble by having a well-stocked Amazon wishlist, haha.)

Well, the biggest person I buy presents for is my sister. It is my duty to spoil her .

On Black Friday we are planning on going to the outlets. My plan is for my mom and I to give my sister some cash to buy some things she wants, but I will also be observing for cues to things she also wants but can't buy (i.e. out of her price range or she wants but doesn't want to spend money; still working on the logistics). Then, I'll either buy the items she wants (but doesn't purchase) secretly or wait till I find it online, if possible, and give them to her on Christmas. There are also a few things that I know she wants that I will probably get her either on Christmas or Black Friday: Christmassy flannel shirts; Christmassy flannel lounge pants; leather boat shoes; polos and oxfords; t-shirts. There's also a small LED Christmas tree that's USB powered that she likes that I might get her if I can find it.

For my mom, my sister and I might get her a purse. I'll pick up my dad some polos or oxfords and he'll be happy.

A couple of friends will get some tshirts from PacSun :rolle: (I can't believe that in my group of friends I'm the only one that casually wears polos/collared shirts, whereas they wear casual t shirts).

I'll send some cards and the odd scarf or book to my geographically distant relatives early so that they remember my existence, but otherwise I'll just buy at the latest date possible.

Honestly, I can't take Christmas seriously when I'm in Australia; it's more or less an ordinary day at home for me, because my immediate family just doesn't make a fuss.

Sounds like a good plan!

But hell, my Amazon list is a complete mess
I put everything on it that I've seen somewhere and found cool or interesting, so stuff I actually don't need or want that bad and some things that I actually want. For me the list is ok but I couldn't give it to someone to find me a present

If there was an option for other, I would've voted other.

My immediate family and I came came to America from another country.

Our family really struggled for the first few years in America.

So, nobody in our family got anyone else gifts.

Even today, thirty years after we came to America, we still don't get each other gifts

I have some ideas (for my girlfriend, parents, ex, and ex-roommate), but on principle I won't buy anything until December. December is spending month. Until then it's saving month. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I might buy some stuff in late November if it's something I need to order online, but that's the absolute earliest I'm willing to go. Christmas is December. Besides, my girlfriend's birthday is before Christmas, so I'm thinking of that before Christmas.

    This. 100%.

I did buy something for my aunt at a street fair that I'll give to her at Christmas, but that hardly counts as Christmas shopping.

No, not yet. Last year, I bought everything about 2 days before Christmas. I'm pretty sure it was on Sunday, and I clearly wasn't alone because there was a shit ton of people buying everything up.

I don't buy presents for many people though. Always my sister, mother and grandmother - usually some other relatives, but I don't talk to most of them, and they don't get me anything either.

Mince pies are on sale now though so that time of the year is closing in.

I don't do a ton of gift-giving, but I generally wait till December, and generally give stuff such a collectible books, or kinky things that I have to order from the UK.

I haven't even started. I have a few ideas, but I'll probably get started in October and get the last few things in November.
