Oh Paris~ one of the first of the "whoops~ did my sex tape get leaked? Well, might as well look at how cute and dumb I am so I can rake in even more money" girls~ I actually kind of liked her, even though her whole bit was just an act. She branded herself and made a nice living and lifestyle for herself, and encouraged Kim and Nicole to do the same~ (Omg ilu Nicole XD;;; ) I hope she's resting on her laurels and relaxing a bit, but I feel like she's probably just waiting to recapture the throne from Kim now that she's calmed it down a bit... I just want more Nicole~~

I've often wondered if Paris Hilton and her ilk are actually geniuses, but pretend to be dumb blondes because that's what people want to see.

They usually are. These people tend to know that the stupid act is what gets the most viewers, press, and money. Look at Ke$ha. If I'm not mistaken she's Mensa level intelligent. She's open about it all being an act.
She was famous for... being famous. She was one of the first people to be famous for absolutely no reason except that she was the daughter of the Hilton Hotels magnate. Unlike many of the so-called celebrities of today, who really are as stupid as they appear, Paris' public persona was entirely an act. When you see her interviewed, she's actually surprisingly poised and intelligent. Why she chose the "dumb blonde" persona is beyond me. She is one of many public figures that I'm honestly shocked anyone ever put any energy toward.
