After three weeks and two days of break, I have to go back

This depresses me to no end. Especially since some regions of Germany still have the rest of this week off.

Oh well... back to the endless struggle that is German schooling.

I know how you feel (well, okay, I don't the struggle that is German schooling) I've made it through only the first day back so far, and I'm exhausted/stressed to no end. x-x

One 15 minute break in the entire schoolday is not enough.

All the schools here K-12 went back to school on Monday (January 5) which means I have to start working again as a substitute teacher -- joy!

However, I don't return to college/university until January 20th.

Yeah.
School in Alpena began Monday, but they had a snowday.
So I couldn't even brag to my friends back in the US that I was at home while they were in school.

Tomorrow will be a rough day. I think I might forget my gym clothes and go home early.

In Massachusetts there was an ice storm in early December and some schools have been closed for a over three weeks. Some kids may have to go on Saturdays.

I only got two weeks of vacation, I'm going back today, and our school begins earlier in the year than any other I know of. And our schedule is 15 minutes longer than all the other schools in the region. And the people there are all bratty upper-middle class kids. And the school put giant television screens up and down the hallway instead of buying paper for the teachers - they have to buy paper with their own money, which is why we usually take tests on our own paper.

It's basically the same. I should've had only two weeks of break, but I got sick the entire week before, so I ended up missing it.
Most kids here go to school from 8 until about 4.

I go from 8 till 1 since I'm an exchange student and I don't have to prepare for the Abitur. Lot's of exceptions are made for me. Which is cool, but at the same time, I don't really feel welcome because of it.

I go back today too! The good thing is, I won't be late for my 8am class... The bad thing, I didn't sleep at all.

And for this semester too, I have no classes on Friday
