Finger digit ratio

    There have been theories and speculation before about finger length being connected to sexuality. Nothing set in stone though. So I'm wondering how many people on EC match this theory.

    It's simple, stretch out your hand (either will do) and look at your ring and index fingers and compare them. Is one longer than the other? Which one? Are they both the same length?

    Now look at your other hand and do the same. Is it the same as the other hand?

    For me on my left hand and on my right hand my ring fingers are longer than my index fingers.

    On both hands?

    I would also like to add that studies based on this found that lesbians and straight men often had longer ring fingers, where as straight women were found to have ring and index fingers that were equal in length on average. With gay men having either equal length fingers or having the index finger longer than the ring finger on their hands.

    Later studies found that with lesbians, this idea usually rung true. Where as with gay men there was a lot more variation in terms of finger ration. Most of the studies did not take bisexuality into account.

    But it's all just speculation at the moment.

    My ring finger is longer on both hands, with my right ring finger being almost the entire nail bed longer than my right index, and left being only slightly longer.

    Straight partner right ring finger is longer and left is the same length or slightly longer

    My ring fingers are longer than my index fingers on both hands. Wonder what that says about me really.

    I wish sexuality was as simple to figure out as to glance down at your hands. If only that were genuinely conclusive it would've saved my younger self a lot of time and energy mulling over it all :lol: One thing I can say though I'm not a lesbian and I doubt I'm straight- my fingers lied to me :eek:

    Hmmmm I've heard of that before. My ring & index fingers are about the same length on my left hand, & my ring finger is longer on my right hand.

    In both of my hands the length is about the same which is supposed to be common in trans women... :slight_smile:
