I mean "saving the world" as in helping to make it a better place for yourself and others... ...or by having superpowers or something...
If I were to have a superpower that would help save the world, I would want to have the power of conversion/mind control. Then, I'd convert every religious person to Buddhism, so there'd be no more wars over religion. Or at all. Imagine everyone just being all chill and meditative instead of using the names of their prophets to justify dropping bombs. People would be a lot more accepting of each other, too. At least that's the impression Buddhism has given me.
I think it's pretty much impossible to do to be honest, there is too much wrong with it already. One of my most hated things is people who like to think they're better than everyone else, but there will always be these people, no matter how hard you try to get rid of it. Also, poverty. Poverty could easily be abolished, but because countries and people in general don't like helping others in need, it's not going to happen and it upsets me so fucking much to know people are dying because the government would rather fund unnecessary things than help people. Also, take a listen to this song. ------------ ---------- Post added 25th Oct 2015 at 09:42 PM ---------- Oops, i seemed to go on a rant which veered off the thread a bit. xD Basically, if i could, I would cure poverty and rid the world of all the things which make people bad.
i would stop abuse. i feel a great deal of abuse is created by others who have been abused, and a great deal of massive issues start "small." if the human race can work together to solve home issues then it would eventually grow outwards.
This isn't the be-all end-all nor a miracle solution, but I think education, for as many people as possible. Education can, firstly, open a lot of doors for a lot of people- it provides opportunity. But not simply education that can help people get into school, learn, and perhaps strive for a career they may not have had access to before, but also education in terms of issues such as LGBT+, for one, educating parents on treating and raising their children well and healthily, educating people on mental health fairly and objectively, and educating doctors around the world on how to safely deal with and treat a certain disease in a country, especially in poorer areas, the list goes on- sometimes knowledege can go a long way in encouraging understanding and acceptance, and better plans of actions for when issues such as an epidemic or natural disaster occurs, or issues like discrimination and homophobia. Of course there are limitations to the practicality of all this, and it won't solve everything for sure. But an access to education, of the academic and social or health kind, can go a long way.
Those are just extremists, I think most religions are peaceful but some people have to go over the top of things and over think. For me I would have everyone feel love and erase hate.
