When you are with people you are out to, do you find yourself keeping from saying "He/She is hot" in a gay sense? Or other gay speak?

I voted yes. But it's actually only with my straight male friends. It would be kinda weird.

I wish there was a 'sometimes' answer because that would be me. I don't really speak 'gay talk' to most of the people that I'm out to because it's awkward for me to bring it up; if the other person brings it up then I will talk about it, but there are some people I'm out to that I don't say anything 'gay' to.

I don't censor it, but I'm not generally a person to go on about how hot other people are. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Just with my close friends I talk about guys.

Nope. That's actually how someone found out about me, using almost the exact phrase listed in the first post :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No, if I have something to say, I say it but I don't keep going on and on about it.

It depends on the people...Like my straight mates, I think there's no point in me talking about gay stuff, cos it's unlikely to interest them. Conversely, if I'm out with my girls, then I most certainly will and have pointed out hot guys etc.

It's the same about how I don't talk about work stuff with people who don't work with me...Like, if they aren't involved in that aspect of my life, I find no reason to talk about it with them. That's not to say that I can't talk about that stuff with them. I have talked about gay stuff with my straight mates (such as what they're wearing, who I'm going out with/not going out with etc etc etc), it's just that there are much more interesting things to talk about with them...Such as what alcohol we will consume that night

At school I did, but that's because I didn't want to give my 'friends' any more ammunition against me. I don't any more.

I don't really do things like that anyway. Even if I were straight, I doubt I would go around saying "she's hot" to all my friends. It's just not really my nature.

Only with my Catholic relatives. And they live in Devon (or Cornwall or Torquay, I never remember :lol:slight_smile:, so I rarely see them anyway. Everywhere else, I just treat and talk about my crushes or whatever as any straight person would.

I do. Yesterday at work that song "Man eater" was on. One of my managers (a friend, but not in the know) looked over with a smile and said "This is your song." She was just being silly as we tend to say that about all goofy songs, but I couldn't help but giggle. I wanted to say, "No silly, I don't eat men."

I tend not to say things like "he's hot" to anybody. I did for awhile, but my tastes are so different from "standard" that I got tired of the inevitable ten-minute-explanation that followed "Why do you think HE's hot?".
