I am wondering if there are any natural ways to grow taller. My genderqueer girlfriend is 5'4" and is 27 years old. She wants a way to grow taller. I think her confidence will grow if she could be a few inches taller. Does anyone know of anything? And has anyone had any success with anything? Surgery is not an option. Testosterone is also not an option.

I'm sorry to say this, but at 27, there's really no way for her to naturally grow taller. I'd highly recommend against using hormones as the side effects are a lot worse than the aesthetic benefits of being a couple of inches taller. Not to mention that they don't always work.

She could always consider wearing heels to gain those couple of inches, but that's about it. :/

If it were possible, I'd swap heights. I'd love to be 5'4". 6' is way too damn tall.
Speaking of which is there a way to grow smaller?

Back to your friend, I don't think there's much that they can do in terms of growing taller. Remember though, some celebrities are quite small though. (Take Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Josh Hutcherson, Kim Kardashian, etc. as an example.)

Maybe, try this How to Look Taller | StyleCaster It could help.

Yeah, height is not something we humans have much power over, unfortunately.

And that is coming from a 6' guy who's stuck in a 5'5" body, haha.

The only way would be to go to a doctor for it... Here they do it, but I would say this as more of a "hey, look at how crazy this is" than a serious suggestion (please... don't do this)

They break your leg bones and put a mechanism to keep your bones a little bit apart so when the bone reforms, it will be a little bit longer. They do this repeatedly if a lot of extra inches are wanted, and you will not be able to walk for 6 months to a year... but hey~ a bit taller~~~

I personally don't know of any common medical way to do it, and unfortunately people don't usually have much control over how tall they are. But a lot of times how tall someone is perceived (which can be very, very important as well) can be influenced heavily by body language, clothes, and how you hold yourself.

I know that the difference between slouching and standing up tall + throwing your shoulders back can be huge; walking with your head up and with that certain confidence, and walking with shoulders in/head down has a pretty discernable difference in height perception.

The clothes make a difference too. This is just a random thing I know in my head, but I believe there's a thing about wearing jeans with longer in-seams making you look taller to others.
Otherwise, like mentioned, heels might work.

I don't know if anything I said here might help, but hope it can in some way. It's hard to change height, but maybe there are ways to encourage her to feel happier with how tall she is. Or, as above, there are definitely things she can do to be perceived as taller, if that helps her in any way.

I truly appreciate everyone's replies. I think she's perfect, but she wants to be taller. She's already taller than me so that's a good thing. Yeah, that leg breaking surgery is completely out of the question. I'd never let her do that. She already has a patella injury.

I heard about bee pollen as a natural supplement. Anyone know anything about it?

Women and men are both done growing by that age. 5'4 is not that short though! Plus, high heels and a tall hairstyle could fool dummies like me into thinking 5'6 or 5'7.

She would rather chew on glass than wear heels, lmao! I'm 5'1" so maybe she will feel more confident the more we are around each other.

There is no way of growing taller at the age of 27. Height of humans is defined by the length of their long bones and the spine. Those stop growing after puberty. The only possible way to make her taller is with the help of the Ilizarov apparatus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilizarov_apparatus#Bone_lengthening.2Freshaping). But no sane doctor will do that procedure to her because her height is within the normal range for humans.

Tell her to wear tall shoes and get a hairdo that will make her look taller.

Rather than heels, perchance thick soled boots? Idk anything about being tall XD I wear boots usually and those can add an inch or two to my tiny self (5'2") XD

At 27 your friend would have stopped growing in height. So 3 options:

    1. Stretch. By following a stretching regime like yoga or pilates your friend can lengthen their spine. This does not mean they will "grow" as such, more that they can achieve their maximum potential height. Bad posture and slocuhing can knock inches off your height.

    2. Surgery (nope). This is expensive, excrutiatingly painful, time-consuming and highly risky. It involves bones being broken and then "grown" by using frames pinned into them. Not at all worth it.

    3. Acceptance. She is a girl at 5'4", that seems incredibly normal and is not going to disadvantage her. I could probably understand her concern more if she were a guy (as guys face a lot more stick for being small, even though I think it is cute), but as a girl thi seems pretty average.
