Well? What are you guys eating Thursday for Thanksgiving? Well, in my family, we would try something different for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So this year we are having something different for Thanksgiving and I have no idea what we are having lol. So what about you guys?
We always eat the traditional Thanksgiving food, tbh. Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Pumpkin Pie, Corn, Bread, idk what else. For Christmas, though, we always eat bbq hotdogs cut up into tiny pieces and sauerkraut. I have no idea why, but it's really good.
Stereotypical Thanksgiving things. Don't mind it though. It's all great. I also get to eat two Thanksgiving dinners this year
I had chicken-flavored ramen for it last year. I think this year I'll step it up a notch and buy some stuffing.
this is going to sound bad but either McDonalds or nothing. Some thanksgivings i have corn. I am a very picky eater.
We are eating out at a place called Luby's this year to not stress out on cooking and cleaning. Next year, though, I'll be cooking. For a more non-traditional menu that maintains the essence of the season, I would suggest and will probably try some of the following next year (I've done all of these, but never together as a full meal): Start off with a crisp salad that incorporates the fruits of the season. Some dried cranberries, walnuts, pecans, and pears, served with a homemade cranberry honey vinaigrette. Follow with a winter soup, maybe a butternut squash soup. For the main dish, you can stick to a traditional (maybe heritage, for a more gamey taste) turkey or do a ham (my personal favorite has a bourbon-Coke-brown-sugar glaze), goose, rib roast, or lamb. Then, a nice parsnip puree, cranberry chutney with nuts, some cornbread stuffing filled with root vegetables, and a green bean and ham casserole. For pie, pecan, pumpkin and sweet potato.
We eat pretty much everything. But my go-to dish is green bean casserole. I will literally ignore the dessert for some.
