Choose your side, and prepare to die for it (an explanation would be nice).

No. I simply refuse to choose between these two. I love both...they each *totally* have their own place.

Sriracha has that wonderful thick, garlicky chili flavor; Tabasco has a more distinct fresh cayenne flavor and packs a (little) bit more heat.

I would absolutely add Tabasco to a bowl of under-spiced chili. But Sriracha can't be beat for adding to a mild Kung Pao Chicken/Shrimp. I would not use either as a replacement for the other in either of those two situations...and those are just two situations.

I LOVE how technical you got into it. Hot sauce is serious business, people.

    KEEP IT COMING.

In my opinion, sriracha has a flavour that kinda beats tabasco, at least in terms of adding character to dishes. In terms of adding kick to food, I think tabasco is a bit more practical. I love both though!

In any case, I chose raw jalapeños in the poll because they are super tasty and fun.

Got to say Tabasco on this one. Just adds a much better flavor to just about anything, whereas Sriracha just doesn't go well with certain foods.

I like them both, but it's no contest for me.

I don't like either because I don't care for the vinegar base. This stuff is pretty good though. Just be careful because a little dab goes a long, long way. Yes this has vinegar in it, but you really can't taste it

That's actually the reason why I'm not that much of a fan of Sriracha. The flavor is a bit too vinegary for my taste, although I would still pick it over most other brands. There is also the fact that I put more stock into how much of a kick they add, and in that regard Tabasco is undoubtedly superior.

Not accounted for in the poll, but I also love cinnamon spice. These were (and still are) favorites of mine as a kid:

Both. In liberal amounts. I eat eggs almost every morning. (I need something I can make no matter how tired I am, plus I hate oatmeal and cereal). I season them with either depending on my mood.

I think both works well depending on the food that I'm eating. Sriracha works well for me when I am eating Filipino street foods such as Fishball or Kikiam. Tabasco on the other hand gives a bit of a kick when I eat foods like Steak.

Neither. Spicy foods and me don't do well.

While I have been known to use both Tabasco and Sriracha on multiple occasions (sometimes in unison), nothing can be the flavor and sheer spiciness of a freshly chopped Jalapeno. It's juicy, it adds texture, and it's a naturally occurring food. It doesn't need to be made in a factory.

It is an EXTREMELY versatile topping, and can be used on tacos, pizza, eggs, burgers, anything you please! I know of a thanksgiving turkey recipe that calls for an almost obscene amount of jalapenos. Try adding sriracha or Tabasco to a turkey, see how it turns out.

Neither. Tapatio. Also depends on what it's served with/on.

    Sriracha, but I like both.
